where can i find email lists to advertise to?

Let me start off by saying i don't have an email list.

I have heard that people will let you advertise on their list even that there are companies that have HUGE lists and will allow you to place an ad on the emails (for a price of course).

Does anyone know what im talking about?

Anyone know where I can do this?

    Thanks.

You could always try yahoo groups related to your niche. Submit articles and posts to them with your site in the sig line. You could also try the "Deals/Freebies" section of this site and see if anybody is offering a chance to advertise on their lists.

    Hi,

Easiest and cheapest is just join some of the really big and well-established safelists like the 49,000 member Herculist safelist -
    http://herculist.com/members/index.cgi?megalist

Then you can email all the members once every 48 hours.

You will want to make sure you ad is converting before paying for email advertising. I would start by sending targeted traffic via Adwords to my site to see the conversion.

Then I would make changes and continue with Adwords until I had a reasonable conversion before approaching email list owners.

Most ad networks will want you to commit a minimum of $5k before they'll open an account for you so that's why your ad should already be tested and ready to go...

PS. Don't even waste your time with SafeLists ... LOL (If you can mail 48,000 members every 48 hours then what do you suppose all the other members are there for too? No one will read your ads!

    Hi No_20,

I'm not aware we cannot post affiliate links.
I got these rules in the sticky thread above and no mention of affiliate link. Point 1) says we can post urls and affiliate link is just an url, right ?

"New Affiliate Posting Rule PLEASE READ
The affiliate general section seems to have become overwhelmed with
"If you want to make x send me a pm"
If you have a announcement of a affiliate program just say it. No more pm me for more information.
    1) This is a way people are getting around min post counts before posting urls.
    2) Creating tons of "pm sent plz send info" post count inflating crap.
    3) Lots of scams are going on in pms. If someone really has a good affiliate program they do not need to hide it in a PM
This new rule will probably be adjusted"

Start your search here... You have to know your demographics to really narrow down the lists that fit your market. You should also have a good handle on your conversion numbers, etc..

Set up a squeeze page and offer a free ebook
or software in exchange for their email address.

Use an autoresponder to send download information

Advertise your new squeeze page and they will come.

    Hope this helps.

I have tried safelist email campaigns........ using pro designed marketing emails, and to tell you the truth....... I didn't even recoup my safelist sign up fees.....

The trouble with these is, for one........ they may say your email goes out to 50,000 members etc, but you have NO proof that is goes to anyone other then, other safelist paid members.............

The only safelist worth using is a credit based one.
    Gotsafelist is pretty good.
