I heard in a recent webinar that Hubpages is getting better placement in Google now then Squidoo. I was wondering if anyone has tested both of these mechanisms and if they've had any luck with either of them. I've used Squidoo for quite some time, but I question the power it holds when seeking placement in rankings on top search engines. I've seen them place high, but it is a tedious task keeping up with the lens. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to up my rankings with my current Squidoo Lens. Also, if you've used Hubpages, please share your experiences. I like to keep up on up to date knowledge on what works and what doesn't.
I don't know about experts, but my Hubpage got immediate top placement against me Squidoo lens, still not showing.
I posted a Squidoo page for a friend months ago, and never saw it appear in Google search results or alerts. I didn't bother with it after that, so I'm no expert on how to obtain ranking with Squidoo, but I would suggest there are better ways.
Yeah, squidoo lenses are taking a bit more time to get indexed than before, I'm not sure about hubpages though
I have an account in both Squidoo and Hubpages.. I was creating lenses on it, but don't get traffic from it..

Here is my experience: 1. Squidoo took a couple of weeks to index the lens and right now, squidoo appears in top-3 results when search for keywords related to my site. On the other hand, hubpages lens was indexed within 3-4 hours after I created my lens! 2. Hubpages removed the my lens the next day saying that it's an advertisement. That lens spoke about my site and displayed pics and photo from the site through RSS. Squidoo lens is still there and they never objected.
I prefer hubpages over squidoo: 1.) Easier to use. 2.) Faster indexed. 3.) Real backlinks if your hubscore is high enough. Means if you have a good reputation the links in your hub are "follow" only if your reputation sinks they get converted to "no follow". 4.) More content, less spammers. 5.) I earned more money so far with hubpages then I did before with squidoo. Here one of my hubs: How to deal with a food agressive dog SY
I too am using hubpages. I am not an expert on this things but I find hubpages very easy to set up and use. I have also notice that my hubpage have been on top search results in just a few months.
People I've just checked hubpages looks ok-it is a PR5- AND a predicted PR7. Never visited the site before. Any positives to make me open an account? Anyone?
I use both for building backlinks and I would recommend both for any SEO effort The main principle still stay true - Create good content.
"Squidoo vs. Hubpages" You can use any of these, the real thing that matters is the SEO you do to improve search results ranking. Also, I think the best option is to get your own domain. As then your SEO work will be for your own site.
In a freshly published lens yes. It will be WIP status. Once it goes into Featured Status (usually by the next lensranking) those links will have the nofollow lifted.
1.) Ease of use. 2.) Getting relevant backlinks (only if you don't spam! Spam=ban at hubpages ;-) 3.) Earn a bit of extra money Feel free to use my referral link in my signature, the last one, on the right ;-) SY
If you're a Hubber thinking about joining Squidoo then read this: Hubpages vs Squidoo Or if you're a Lensmaster thinking about joining Hubpages then read this: Squidoo vs Hubpages I've written them from two different points of view. Not in saying that one is better than the other, but taking what you know about one and translating that into the other.
