What software are you using (or do you recommend) for editing camcorder videos to add watermarks, soundtracks, credits, etc.?

I use windows movie maker that comes with XP and vista. Then I bought a separate program to water mark the entire length of the video. The watermarking program is called Water Mark Factory.

Watch this video on youtube and tell me the website name - youtube dot com/watch?v=7cdOEeUFp5Q

Well, so how to really attract natural viewers then? For example, I have a video about skateboard training. But if I use keywords such as "skateboard training" or "skateboard freestyle", etc. on my title, that will be hard for me to compete. But if I use unique title (let's say: "my skateboard video"), how can people know about my video if I am still a new user? Usually I used a competitive title because I want when people search for it, my video would appear on the first page. But if I avoid this competition, how could people know about my video?

I have a friend who uses You Tube exclusively for generating leads for his business. Gets 10-20 live contacts dily. All he does is movies 4 or 5 times a week. Still not sure how he is generating so much traffic.

I'm sorry, I don't use to reply when I don't read a thread in full but the title of this is ambiguous, YouTube is a Google's company so there is not way to put YouTube versus Google.

Even though I'm aware the OP means which one is better, that is a completely different thing.

For indexing of course search engines are quite better and not just trendy. YouTube is popular but actually Adobe Air is attracting video-fans's attention.

Think outside of Youtube, You must raise the views/plays to extend your reach, Digg the video, Stumble it and use the Bookmarking options on the Youtube video page, then go to places where you can embed your video and gain more links, place the video on your own sites and blogs - using the autoplay feature.

kev and thsadmin comments are complementary.I would like add that it takes a little bit of stealth approach for massive views and traffic.Regarding the statement that the account would not be deleted if flagged and in the suitable for adults only category needs some clarification from kev.

If you mean 70 000+ plays in first 24 hours, then you are exactly right, the first 48 hours are critical, if you want to dominate the plays and have a huge effect - this is a must.

Yeah I still disagree with that one, if you go over the top and upload adult vids and porn then you will get banned or suspended.

Search youtube for breast exam or breast feeding - and you will find videos with womens breast fully exposed.

Some of these videos are done by Doctors (or they claim to be doctors) showing women how to do a self exam for lumps in their breast. But these same videos have been flagged as unsuitable for minors.

Then there are the breast feeding videos. Some of them show a womans exposed breast. But if people consider breast feeding porn - they need some help.

If your account is flagged for copyright infringement, then yes it will be deleted. After all, the video belongs to someone else.

There is a big difference between an educational video, porn and copyright infringement.

utube is like Digg, it can give you a spike in traffic but the long term visitors will still come from Google. Still, marketing via utube is a good idea if for nothing else viral purposes.

If you market it properly Google will feed the Youtube video anyway and if done correctly the video will remain dominant in Google as well, same with Digg, you just have to work on the video or digg like you would your own site and build links - from there the links will build naturally.

It's all about the launch process and the first 48 hours ....

Prove it. What sources did you use to make that statement?

From the time I started posting my videos, at least 50%, more like 60% of my membership comes directly from youtube. This has been going on for over a year now.

In the past 3 days my videos have been viewed @ 25,000 times. Every video is watermarked with the website site name and since I am a youtube partner, I get to put a banner with my website name next to every video. That means I have 257 banners and 257+ links on one of the top ranked websites in the world.

    Great input everyone!

Is it safe to conclude that instead of an "either/or" approach, one should first create watermarked videos for YouTube , then be very discerning in selecting keywords ala' Google?

Youtube for all intents and purposes offers more of an equal playing field given its age whereas if you're competiting against establish sites on Google, you would have extremely hard to get it to the top since other sites would have the upper age based on longevity.

It also has to do with trends. people love videos. We are a TV society so it's only natural that you can get uniques. but keeping your visitors is another story altogether. For that, I would invest in a solid Google Campaign. . .Why not do both?
