I would not say Google hates spam. Without spam, making a good search engine would be much easier and holding the 1st position as a search engine would be much harder. It is the ordinary users, who hate to see spam in SERPs and hence Google tries to keep it out.
White hat seo is always appreciated by google it means if you are using google webmaster guidlines to optimize your web pages its some what the basics of seo.
Hi, True on that. Google, as probably many others hate Grey hat, and some of the black hat. White hat all ways appreciated by users/se's and webmasters.
aolaybar, Google knows alot about spam. Google, imo, is not too fond of seo as a whole. Matt Cutts, the google spam engineer imo (he bought my seo training cd in 2002), has been at the job/helm a long time. I was cloaking back in 1999, doing all kinds of black hat stuff, and it is of my opinion google didnt like the techniques. Matt Cutts has pretty much let us know that we shouldnt be considered about seo, per se, but instead, should focus on quality content, and we shouldnt use any techniques to get higher rankings. In other words, write good content, and let it get links naturally. Idealistic. The commercial world does not work that way, and your competitors certainly arent. It is a catch 22 scenario. The most competitive markets are perpetually building and rebuilding, or are on the nasdaq (shopping sites, you know them). The game has remained the same for years. Build a page, put the target keyphrase in the title, heading, and variations throughout the webpage, write a compelling metadescription for clickthrus (consider blocking snippets from directory listings and nosnippet testing) with the phrase, and build linktext to the homepage and interior pages. After a given saturation, say 100 links with the same linktext, vary the linktext so that 100% of your linktext to said pages is not the same, as that isnt natural. That will get you ahead of the game more often than not. continue to build new content, update content, and get reviews for your pages.
Certain survey shows that, 70% of search engine optimizer are spammer (without knowing they did). Are you a search engine optimizer?
Thanks for sharing link, But i really understand why this person is asking such silly question.. "do google hat seo" He is such a stupid one, cz if google hates seo, than who runs seo campaign their website won't get listed in top of serp's, and who do not run seo for their websites, will get higher rankings.
Try to go to the top and have a better look. Do you think you make sense? "than or then" grammar set aside, i won't mind that. Let's get focussed on the topic rather than attacking each other with such non-sense. I want to clarify first that I did not said "Google doesn't like SEO" I said "Do google hate SEO?"
