How directory owners earn ?

I know there are thousands of free directories available on net.But how this people earns money ?

 

Google adsense, and other affiliate program

 

But I think none clicks on directory adsense or join affiliates.Its have less chance.

 

Own money from featured links, and if its traffic is good, make some money from adsense. Normally only PR4+ directories can make some money.

 

Listing could be paid or free, along with ads / banner exchange - you get chance to make some moolah !!!

Very nice post there, there is a lot of money to be made with directoroies.

Generally directories treated as home of link for approx all related categories. And most of search engines also include directories links to there search results. If directories have a good PR then results appear generally on the above position than other. And generally we are not looking for any links in directory directly, so if you are looking for any particular keywords and in search results you saw any directories links with related site then there are maximum chances to click on adsense ad of that landing page because ads would be also related to your keywords.

Can earn by sponsor link for related categories like sponsor links for business category, sponsor links for health & fitness category and generally you have to paid for sponsor links on monthly basis or yearly basis, and if you have good PR and good traffic rate then you can get easily sponsors sites.

Can earn by sell Text ad places.

Can earn with feature links or Express regular links for quick review or any other paid links.

Can earn for deep links review because most of directories avoid free deep links submission means you have to paid a little amount for deep links.

Directories lists and backlinks from directories are more easier than other relevant site.

Can earn due to good collection of email addresses.

Income from directories completely depend on your site traffics.
