No choice they are powerful and report what they want, the scenes of mobilizing 100 000 soldiers to rescue earthquake victims to them seem more appealing then showing a closed door of the Myanmar military junta. Though the latter seems to be far more desperate in need of help.

Well said, sorry wisdomtool for some reason i missed your earlier post about this.

I have noticed that too, f**king media showing video after video of "hey look at the first moments the earthquake hit" who gives a toss, yeah show us the videos of people working together to help rescue those that are trapped and assist those without water, food and shelter.

But as rightfully pointed out, i have heard snippits of "yeah this primeminister said that about the ajunta and this president said that about them" but no actually real video evidence coming out of there. China are a superpower now and have very sophisticated technology and strategies for such catestrophic events and whilst pictures are beemed around the world of this i do think that the media are focusing on he wrong situation.

Maybe im missing something here, but the world is driven by what we see, the media should be OPEN SOURCE if you catch my meaning....

    ** UPDATE **

Finally someone actually said something thats f*cking worth anything; Gordon Brown (UK PM) has said:

"Aid and Aid workers should go into the country wether the ajunta like it or not" finally, maybe he saw the DP thread!! anyhow... france is backing him and germany are almost there also... so HOPEFULLY this is good news.. but now for the bad news ppl.

Reports are now saying that 2,500,000 (2.5 MILLION) PEOPLE are now at RISK!! Damn, they better not hang about in there conference rooms one moment longer... get in there.....

Saying is one thing and doing is another, politicians are known to say a lot but do nothing. But frankly it is an improvement that at least they are saying something that borders justice and truth. Wonder where is Bush with his shock and awe tactics.

BTW the diplomats etc are enjoying themselves discussing in air con rooms, great desserts etc, every hour they talk rubbish will be every hour of sufferings and deaths for this innocent and voiceless victims.

I think that is the worst thing of all.... nature caused this disaster and unfortunatly a way of life for most people around the world, some would say expected. But to see in a nice aircon room as you say sipping tea and eating biscuits deciding wether or not they should do anything is a crime on humanity its self.

Man, its all about the spin doctors... spinning sh*t here spinning sh*t there... they need to be pro-active pull there finger out and actually make a difference... dont they realise they would win votes and get back by the ppl dumb f*cks.

There should be a global vote in my opinion... why leave it up to a small group of people who think they know whats best.

There will sure be a vote after finishing their tea and desserts and hammering the wordings debating the wording word by word into a document. The conclusion of the vote maybe the rest agree but China veto and that will send them back to their tea and desserts and debating.....and the cycle continues.....until maybe a totally watered down version appear and all agree.

That so call resolution may just be a piece of nice parchment paper with a gentle tap on the hand of the Myanmar military junta, some harsh punishments maybe a sanction on the boycott of the import of caviar (maybe truffles as well) into Myanmar and I guess thats about it.

And then they will all be DEAD.... WTF.... a waste of money sending all that aid they should be sending cofins instead... f***ing AR**HOLES.

I hope all those people in authority that could have done something but didn't BURN IN HELL... i also i hope that the ajunta die of the most painful disease ever known to man. Makes me sick........

We out cry over the 10p tax rate (UK) and the PM are forced to take a U-Turn and give us back the money... We out cry about burma and f**k all is done. Your right... i forgot about the veto it makes no difference at the end of the day... lets face it... if we go in by force then we have to be prepared for another major war especially if it is against china's wishes.

Myanmar is under China's sphere of influence and is a strategic provider of oil and gas. There won't be any wars, China will veto and the rest will just say "Well we tried our best, lets go back to some Chinese tea and dim sum", courtesy of the Chinese government (They will be tired of cakes and pastries by then)

    Sure, but I still wonder.
When they can afford to pay from their own pockets they don't.
How much do you think Google has given from its own pocket?
All of that money comes from people like you or me.
