$250 For Site Design

Info: The site is a guys site. Hot chicks, humor of all kind, MMA and sports discussions, gadgets, making money etc...

I'm having a custom mascot created as I type - should be ready in 2-3 days. http://travsoutput.com/gfx/ - the guy creating the mascot. Its going to be something like a fat (but not 2 fat) redneck sitting on a couch drinking a beer.... Something like that... Once I get it, I'll post it...

Until then, I'd like to get started on the design of the site.

In short - I want something like http://www.newgrounds.com/ - layout structure wise. I love how they separated/divided their content...

Here's the tricky part - I'm buying a VBulletin theme.

I'd like to keep the same layout structure for the header and header navs. This way, I can just plug them into the vb theme.

I like the fat thick buttons in header nav. I'd like all 5 of those buttons to be unique. In other words, the Home button should have something that says home, the arcade button should have something that says arcade, etc...

The 5 buttons needed are - Home, Babes, Humor, MMA, Arcade.

You can keep'em reddish and yellow. I also need the header to match - leave room for the mascot and a 729px width banner.

As far as the body goes - same thing.

Like I said b4, I love the layout structure of newgrounds. Separate stuff in sections... Headers should match (but not totally be the same as) the nav buttons. Red/yellow..

Also – like the header nav – each section header should be custom and unique to the content its displaying.

Sections will include:

Funny Pics
Funny Vids
Hot Babes (pictures)
Hot Babes (videos)
MMA Videos

The above sections ^ should list 3-6 items with a thumbnail like newgrounds. The sections below should list 5 items with out thumbnails.

Jokes
MMA News
Sport News
Gadget News
Movie/TV News
Latest General Discussions

Try to group stuff that goes together around each other… Make some wide like “featured movies” on newgrounds and some less wide like “site news” on newgrounds.

That’s about it…. Please provide mock ups for feedback. The winner will receive $150 paypal once he is chosen. Fireworks layered PNG preferred but a layered PSD is fine as well…

Just like it says... the header (in structure) must match the header the vb theme comes with. The nav above the header and the rest of my instructions...

@ emzdesign: As I stated above, you can continue Monday, the deadline is Friday the 23rd. Regarding your design, good idea with using the toon for a place holder. The nav is under the header though, and keeping it the same as the VB theme, it has to be above the header. Also, I'm not looking for the same buttons as the theme, I just want you to use its shape (rectangles). Also, they're not custom to their category. Icons that depict the section they're links for - will work. As for the header, its not what I'm looking for but its fine for now until I receive the official logo. The body, again, the headers aren't custom to their category. They're not very well defined either. If you have a look at the example site I provided, you can see what I'm looking for.Thanks for your entry and hope to see a revision.

sorry but having a little hard time coming for ideas for this one... can you show us some more designs you like beside just newsground, just need something to know what exactly (or like) you are after.

WOW! I like that a lot... the direction its going in is great! Few things though, the top nav buttons need to be custom for each section and obviously the body needs content sections like described in the first post. (But you said you'll finish later, meaning you're not done - so good!) Also - I think it might be to much yellow... See if you can use more black besides the bg.. love the gradients by the way!
