Sorry, but "For Dummies" was taken. When all is said and done, when you weed through all the hype and sales letters and JV's and SEO and PPC and RSS and OTO's and all the other abbreviations, there's still only three main elements you need to make money online. 1. Product Creation/Selection (aka Something To Sell) 2. Targeted Traffic Generation (aka Getting People Who Want What You're Selling To Come To Your Website) 3. Conversion (aka Getting The People Who Came To Your Site To Buy Something While They're There, Or At Least Sign Up For Your Newsletter) That's it. When you find yourself losing your head and getting information overload, remember, at the end of the day, it all comes down to those three things. Keep it simple.
Well said Hagen! I like to think of it as an analogy to a girl getting ready for her prom: The Dress = put quality/popular products before buying traffic with a clear path to the transaction. Accessories = everything else you'll ever hear/read/learn about SEO, niches, sales tactics, copywriting techniques and etc. And if you've ever been around a young woman preparing for her prom then you know, it's all about the dress.
Actually, its not well said. You have given only skeletons, not the full body.. I mean content I would suggest you elaborate. Even your so called ******* morons wouldnt be able to figure this out
Yea I am a complete noob at all this and I knew that. Obviously you want to be selling something, and you obviously want people to come to your site and buy stuff. I feel like your thread is kind of pointless, but that could be just me and Cicero haha.
i think that when everybody considers marketing, seo, ppc, and everything else they have that main idea already registering in their heads. if you have something to sell = make a website SEO = targeted traffic generation unique product that your offering - conversion there is two ways to look at it. most of the time tackling the smaller things first helps more
I think Hagen makes a good point, or 3. Look at how many threads in this forum are faffing on about Pagerank, and article submission and directories, and google cache etc etc, while losing site of why any of those things matter (if they matter at all). Sometimes posters here do seem to think those things are an end in themselves, rather than a means to an end.
That's spot on magda, it's not that things like SEO or techniques like article marketing aren't important...they are. But if you aren't fundamentally focused first on making sales, all that other stuff is just distracting you. I think that was the OP's point in posting and that's why I agreed with it. People can get so caught up in looking for the magic formula that's going to lead to success, that they don't see it's already right there for them. Promote products people want, get those products in-front of the people looking for them and provide a clear path to the purchase. If that isn't clear to someone than IM probably isn't the career path they should be on. I'm not trying to sound like a jagoff here, I'm just saying that all the other stuff is nuances to compliment your basic sales model, but you have to have a basic sales model in place for any of that stuff to matter in the first place. Going back to my dress analogy from earlier, a woman can have the greatest shoes, a fancy purse, diamond earings and get her hair and makeup done by a pro...but without the dress she'll still just be naked.
There is so much information out there that it can become information overload therefore instead of actually taking action daily we end up reading more and more only to put off what we really should be doing which is putting it to action.
Creating a call to ACTION are we? You put it well, it is like lets talk about it and Nike will say, "Just do it" and now IBM is sharing this with us all as well, Stop talk start doing, or something like that. Ok off to make a sell. LOL. Logic...
"Great tips"? lol what the hell. Um, there is nothing there. Sorry, but I second what cicero said. But I know what you meant. Love the title of the thread, though.
This is another thread that suggests an answer to an important question. "how do I make money online". but it doesn't.
Anything more specific out there? I pretty much know I have to get people to come to the site, and subscribe, but how?
Okay, you can say in order to make money online the two things you need at THE LEAST is 1) Traffic 2) Conversions problem is, there are SO many different ways to achieve those results, even in non-contemporary ways.
One thing to consider is how to reach people even before they WANT to buy your product and service and make them WANT it. So when they begin research about what to buy, what brand, etc. That’s the best time to make yourself the expert and take the lowest price out of their mindset. This is a very good Internet marketing strategy as keywords are usually less competitive for research topics. HOPE THIS HELPS!
Well isnt this the mantra of all self help topics, how to become an millionaire, well you save up a million bucks, c'mon...
I would have to say the most important thing is to have a very specific target, for instance selling "Shoes" is not specific if your site focuses on "Echo Shoes" or even "Nike Basketball Shoes" You are more likely to rank higher as Google sees the same keywords popping up all over your site with content that matches. Organic Marketing for SERP is the best route, you of course still need to get backlinks and build up RSS feeds, etc.
