The link you have placed in the thread points to a blog with ... nothing in its article... just an adsense. ABout Search engines... I think that Live.com gets bettter. DogPile is another one I use.

Well some thing to tell all.

www.powerset.com is really a killer to google.com. The reason why today powerset is not delivery whole reason is that yet powerset has not crawl the web. They will be planning to crawl as soon as they get the money.

Also, News says this has a killer to google.com not by seeing the his design or that because if you analyise their plan you can know what they will do in future.

They have uploaded a video showing what they are planning to do in future. As soon as all web is crawl you may find something more good then the old one google.com.

Though Powerset.com by making plan has just completed his first step in the long 100 step to beat google.com. The fear is arising because of their plan but currently the plan cannot be showed live because still they have not crawl the web.

So guys we must wait for sometime and get back to this topic after they crawl.

Lots of people know about Google where they are using any Internet or Not.

 

We can think and can dream about to beat google search but in fact we hardly do it

 

What the OP and other Google doomsdayers fail to understand is that, at this point, Google's success has little to do with features or search quality. There are MANY MANY MANY much prettier sites than google - ajaxified, slick and sexy, but they remain infinitesimal and will stay that way. MSN and Yahoo have, in some aspects, better results than google. But, they continue to lose share to Google.

Google is a brand of immense proportions- people "google" each other. people "google" the camera they want to buy. people "google" every damn thing imaginable. This is akin to saying "Have you tried Joe's Soda(tm) - it's WAY better than Coke. It really is a Coke killer." The ONLY people that think that way are somehow involved in the project, to be honest.

And like the soda analogy, anyone who does have a superior product has such a vertical mountain to climb to "play with the big boys", that they will almost surely fail in their ability to scale and meet changing market demands. Google had the opportunity to grow up with the Internet. They experienced fast growth, but they were able to manage it.

Let's just assume that hiteshb is completely right about www.powerset.com being the Google slayer. It hits Digg, Reddit, Slashdot and EVERY SINGLE Internet venue that Google sucks and powerset is the bomb. Within weekd, billions of queries per hour are being sent to powerset's infrastructure, away from Google's massive worldwide infrastructure of hundreds of datacenters spanning hundreds of thousands of servers. powerset is completely DOS'd off the Internet. Powerset can't obtain funding nor order equipment, bandwidth, space and power fast enough to keep up. Existing investors become pissed at the site being continuously unavailable and at headline after headline proclaiming what a joke powerset was. Back to google they go.

The major problem with google is that they are so far and away the search leader, that EVERYONE and their grandmother is trying to game their search results to make money <looking at some of you>. So far, they have achieved a competence to effectively deal with that. There are a lot of smart people working for that company.
