    Hello.

I could not find the specific forum. Please tell me where to move it and I will request the mods.

After having much problem with cheap hosts I have now decided to spen a liile money and get a decent one.

I have decided on ixwebhosting linux expert plan. Here is the link.

    https://www.ixwebhosting.com/index.php/v2/pages.planExpertplan

Is it okay. Someone had any problem with them. Are the servers good?
I will sign up for 2 years at 4.95$ a month. They say unlimited domains and amd unlimited bandwith and unlimited space.

I also get a free domain which they say is for lifetime. Whats the catch?
    Do you recommend this host?

Honestly, I suggest you shouldn't rely on unlimited bandwidth/disk space whatever its price labeled. There is no truly unlimited bandwidth/disk space ever existed. IX Web Hosting is reliable one from my own experienced but I suggest you should take a look at bluehost or dreamhost instead of IX. I have experienced with them both and have more confident on them more than IX for now.

You have to think about it as logical for a few seconds. How they can give you most reliable since they are shared hosting and only $4.95 a month with unlimited bandwidth/disk space. There must be a trade-off between quality, price and features. :) Just my opinion.

If you're paying for 24 months in advance thats a big problem.

Don't beleive the unlimited bandwidth as noted. Somewhere in their terms of service they have a line or two that says - hey we're joking about that.

How much space and bandwidth do you actually need? If you;'re just hosting a few small sites you could easily do with something like 1/10 (1gig space and 10gb bandwidth.

Lots of good company options in that area. I've reviewed a few on my site.

Sounds too good to be true. On the Internet, when it is too good to be true, normally it aren't.

Thanks for the inputs. You guys were right about the unlimited part. The reviews are not good at all.

By the way I have decided to shell some money and go for hostgator. Thanks.

it depends how many bandwidth, space u need.

My hosting has 99.9% and sometimes 100% uptime. Some ppl will say hostgator is best and some will have bad experience with them.

Liquidweb.com is a good website but package starts from 15$ per month. Nexus.pk has 100% uptime and starting price is 3.95$ per month.

Pulled this from the IX TOS. If they are advertising 'unlimited' then their own TOS says they can't penalize you.

"Subscriber agrees that bandwidth and disk usage shall not exceed the maximum number of megabytes per month for the service plan subscribed by the customer (“Agreed Usage”). IX Web Hosting will monitor subscriber’s bandwidth and disk usage. IX Web Hosting shall have the right to take corrective action if subscriber’s bandwidth or disk usage exceeds the Agreed Usage. Such corrective action may include the assessment of additional charges, disconnection or discontinuance of any and all services, or termination of this Agreement, which actions may be taken is in IX Web Hosting's sole and absolute discretion, at any time deemed necessary by IX Web Hosting. If IX Web Hosting takes any corrective action under this section, subscriber shall be entitled to a pro-rated refund of any fees paid in advance prior to such action. In any cause, subscriber will be warned of approaching or exceeded resource limits via email by IX Web Hosting’s automated notification system."

I have an IX account and they had a lot of downtime last year but have been better since they moved their datacenters. I'm not going to renew my plan with them when it expires.

512K for one site or for entire server? For a site it is quite ok but for a server it may be a bit too little.
