I'm getting ready to post my 5 favorite videos of the week for Youtube, which is being used as a marketing tool for my blog, Pariah's Guild. Anyway, should I show all whole movies for my top videos, or should I show 30sec clips of my favorite videos and show the URL of the video?
You should really check out this article. There's a bunch of stuff about marketing on the 'tube. http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/11/22/the-secret-strategies-behind-many-viral-videos/
The average adult attention span is about 45 seconds. Say what you have to say and be done with it. If the video is long and drawn out people will find it boring. I can point you to lots of 30 - 45 second clips that have been viewed 300,000+ times. Some people make good enough videos they do not have to buy views on youtube. One of my videos has been viewed over 100,000 times - and that is without having to cheat. Buying views on your videos = lamest idea ever. I have worked a whole year developing my videos and earned my subscribers the legit way. My view count is there because I worked for it. Then for people like that link you posted to come along and offer to give you a 100,000 views for a price - that is cheating.

My youtube stats: Videos Uploaded: 257 Video Views: 1,086,465 Channel Type: Director Channel Views: 40,801 Subscribers: 1,833 I get about 20 new subscribers every day and about 3,000 - 5,000 daily views of my videos. ============================================== Target your videos towards a certain nitch. And be sure to edit your youtube channel, this adds a professional look to your youtube presence. I subscribe to a lady that has a 35 second video, and it has been viewed over 1,000,000 times - and she does not say a single thing in the whole video. This same lady has several 30 - 40 second videos with over 500,000+ views - and rarely says anything. Sometimes its not "what" you say, its "how" you say it.
LOL, I'm picturing the marketing meeting now. "Yeah, guys I know we can give you 100,000 views but that would be CHEATING. We'd be CHEATING Youtube! No thanks man, I gotta draw the line somewhere!" Haha no worries, dude. I see where you're coming from. My point in posting was that most of the stuff these guys are doing is stuff that anyone could do on their own, for free. In fact, the only "cheater-ish" aspects I remember was commenting on their own videos and having people post about the video in forums.
Here's my Youtube channel and tell me how I can improve it Youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/Pariahsguild I'm going to upload more videos. Right now, I'm going to post Map of the week videos and Top 5 Videos of the week videos soon
