If you're promoting any iPhone or iPod download sites through CB - you may want to stop your campaigns. iPod and iPhone download sites will be cleaned from CB today by order of Apple Lawyers.

Finally, I'm surprised these were even allowed to begin with. They are nothing more than flashy websites that show you how to download movies and tv shows using torrents.

    Good riddance...

I can't name my source, but I can tell you that I've seen the letter from the lawyer. And if you go to clickbank now, you'll see that the big ipod iphone download sites are not there.

It's true, I just checked iphonenova.com which was one of the
biggest and it is no longer there.
If you try to order it you would see this message "This product is no longer for sale"

It does suck to lose a profitable product, but then again I had a rather high refund rate on these products and dropped them pretty quickly...

As of a few weeks ago, Google was not even allowing the phrase "iphone" in any Adwords campaigns due to copyright violations.

It is natural that Apple wants to protect its extremely successful branding from brand dilution. I guess no choice for the web site owners.

I'm A little confused I don't really understand how they could do that. Like
what would their reasons be for banning the sites. There not selling iPhones.

    Can anyone please explain.

    -Thanks

Basically they are protecting their brands like Ipod and Iphones, if you setup a web site talking about Iphones and maybe monetizing it. It will be using their trademarks are brands, hence they can ask for a ban on the sites.

There goes my 2/3 consistent sales a day :(

Well actually a big portion of my revenues is down the drain.

You may lost sales, but ClickBank may lose its already not-so-awesome reputation if they continue to support these download sites. Cleaning them up makes ClickBank look more professional.

It really sucks for the affiliates who promoted it and for the publishers - but those sites shouldn't have existed in the first place. I mean - I am not against illegal downloading - I am against people making money off of it. Selling access to torrent sites? Wow, the idea of the century...
