I started a campaign a couple weeks ago. Every day since the start I have had between a 15-25% conversion rate. I had extracted all the long tail keywords I could from the broad keyword, so I paused it. The very next day (yesterday) my conversion rate dropped to 5%. Thinking it was a fluke I let the campaign go another day (today) and its still at 5%. Could pausing the broad keyword have affected conversion rates?? How is that possible? Everything else is good, CTR is going up, QS is going up, but conversion rate went down when I paused the broad keyword.
btw...i am using all the rest of the same keywords...nothing else has changed...and i actually improved my CTR.
people search for anything under the sun, and i think its impossible to get all broad versions of a keyword so maybe you left out some of the broad keywords that were converting.
i watched every single keyword that sent traffic to my site, and then made an exact match of that keyword to track performance. i dont think that was the problem.
so has anyone else experirenced this? for over a week i had 20% conversion rate, then one day it dropped to 5% and hasnt gone back.
I've not seen that kind of drop before - if you've not done anything to the site. Did a new competitor come on board - and is now ranking higher (paying more) than you? Easier to use than you? Offers more/better things than you?
A few people in the forums have been talking about the same thing - great conversions suddenly dropping. sounds dodgy, really. Take a look at other threads here to try to find out more...
