A Search Engine better than Google

I was searching on Google & reached on this blog....

He had written in his blog that "Powerset" is better than Google.
"A Search Engine better than Google"

What is your Opinion. Is Powerset really better than Google...

 

I like the cool Web 2.0 design

 

Yeah, design is nice. But atm it searching wikipedia articles only. Hard to compare with Google.

 

powerset is not at all better.for example try searching ipmango in google and in powerset.no results in powerset and in google numerous results.so wat do u think??and by the way no search engine now can become better than google.if anyone thinks that then the guy wud be mad.

Google is the King. No search Engine can beat "Google".

Anyway, I think making a search engine better than Google is a very difficult job.

 

No, I don't think anything is better than Google right now. Google has the know-how, they have the money, they're extremely well known, it would be very difficult to fight against the Google search engine.

 

Nice design indeed but i think that nobody can beat the big G!

 

IMHO most search engine sites now use the moto 'better than Google' just to get attention from users and make them visit said site.

 

And from what I can see, they don't get that much attention either...

 

To claim "better than google" without even causing murmurs as they supposedly exceed Yahoo and MSN is absurd. Search engines aren't 90% design. First and foremost, their main function is to deliver key results. That should be the first consideration. And in that aspect, other search engines are eons away from google.

 

I tend to disagree. All it takes to beat Google would be a brilliant idea and a garage

After all, this is how Google started. There was a time when Yahoo looked like the king and altavista, lycos were close but not that close. Suddenly, two guys came up with an idea and they created one of the best things ever happened on internet.

What goes up, always comes down. I guess it's just a matter of when.

 

I agree with you zee on some points, but just because a business was started by two guys with an idea dosen't mean it will come crashing down. The thing is Google dosen't just provide search results it gives (and takes!) so much more which is why it's so established and in my eyes will never come down.

 

If Google had this pretty web 2.0 design and all that malarkey they would need 2 million servers instead of 1.

 

You could also say that a fancy web 2.0 design will put the users off what they came for - a simple straight forward search that gives good search results..

 

Come'on everyone, have you seen anyone beaten Microsoft in the pc platform competition? This is the same case with search engines, Google will always be the big daddy, whether you like it or not.

 

May be that fellow doing advertisement for that se or you are also doing for the same.
I never click on the link which you have mentioned.
Because it's waste of time, as i already know, no one can do better than it's in SE's market.
