My website provider instructed me to move my back up to new server. How can i take backup alongwith subdomains? can i use backup via cpanel or via ftp software? please advice.
download files to ur pc by using FTP. do u want to backup wp? dynamic n static sites backup r different coz in dynamic u need to backup ur db too.
Basically, it will create a full/home directory backup of your site and once you login to FTP for your domain, you will see the full tar.gz backup sitting in your home directory. Download it through FTP and you should be good to go.
Hey, If this is your webhosting company that is moving you to a new server, then they should be able to do it for you! If this is an old hosting company and your moving to a new one, then the new one should be able to do this for you! Shoot me an PM and i will help you out Thanks, Freddy
Hello, I think he is not on cPanel , but on some custom control panel. Also, this thread should be in Site & Server Administration. Ishan
Yes, but from his earlier posts I gathered that he is with manas hosting, who use some panel force, which I have never heard of. You have to email them to add a database, or add a domain. Also, many people think cpanel is short for control panel , instead of being a control panel brand. Ishan
i am hosting some of my forum and blogs in subdomains. After full backup, uploading backedup file to new plesk8.2.0 server is enough? or i need to configure datasbases or anything else? is it that much easy task ?
i tried full backup in my cpanel. It shows like below. '' Previous full backups saved in home directory: backup-5.13.2008_07-38-49_medianet.tar.gz (in progress)'' when will it complete? Can i wait till the completion of backup in login?
It simply means that the backup is still in process, just wait patiently and it will then appear in your "home" directory in your FTP site.
