    Yes. Having a good and unique content really helps in promoting a blog. Aside from doing social book markings, you can also do blog commenting. Good luck!

    guest posting.. there are a lot of blogs there that accepting guest bloggers.. just look for them.. it is one of the best way to promote yourself for free.

    2. do keyword research on terms you want to rank for
    3. create GREAT content, NOT garbage
    4. socially bookmark your posts
    5. watch the traffic come.
