Hi all. I am now building a new website, and wants web space about 1GB - 10GB, can someone tell me websites that offer "free web space hosting"? I have searched by google, and havenot find any website useful. Thanks.
You can surely use www.freewebtown.com or www.hostsnake.com They offer reliable Free Hosting and you can see your site safe also. But if you use other free hosts, then i fear that, you may get your site freezed in no time.
Indeed; just visit all ad-less ones and check their forums for quality of support, active members, how many posts/threads etc. There are some very good ones and some really bad ones
I would second 110mb.com, they are established and very reliable, that is if you are not using mysql (they stop providing mysql for free), other than that they are fantastic.
Awardspace.com is good but they do n't provide 1-10Gb i think so Better you can have a look at www.freewebspace.net (Forums) where a lot of free web hosting providers are there
I have a bunch of sites there also; MySQL is still free, but it is a post-to-use feature; so you need a bunch of relevant forum posts to get it. Or pay ofcourse.
Awardspace is one of the early free web hosting services, very reliable but I find them a tad slow speed wise.
http://www.free-webhosts.com/user_reviews.php?ShowVotes=50 you may find this useful if google didn't help you. I don't think you'll get anywhere 1 gb for free though. Maybe it's also a good idea to search for "hosting" in the Freebies subforum@DP? I found for example this: http://focused.org/web-hosting/4391-full-free-web-hosting.html
Web hosting can cost less than $10 a month. Why have the insecurity and lack of features - not to mention ads - that you get with free hosting when it's so cheap to get REAL hosting? You need to invest in your business. This would be one of the cheapest of the investments you'll need to make.
If you're just starting and getting hardly any visitors ATM, I don't think it would hurt to spare a few bucks Do buy a domain though Otherwise the move to a paid server may be painful (loss of PR and link juice)
Moving from one host to another isn't much fun, though. So I'd pay the extra few bucks for the sake of convenience. You can often host more than one domain name on a hosting account, too, so if you're wanting to have more than one website, it won't cost anything extra.
I guess when one is still starting especially when you are young money is a problem, so it is wise to get a free host, though backup constantly is a must. Of course when he started getting money, your advice would be extremely sound.
