SEO Friendly recommendations for Blog?

I am thinking to put blogs on my sites, so i just wanna know that what shud be the seo Friendly recommendations for the blog. My mean recommendations including Designing Purpose, Visibility Factor etc...........

An alternative approach could be seraching wikipedia for blogging software. I remember seeing a page where numerous scripts listed. Your client may have a look and point you in the direction she desires. Generally I can recommend following:
1- it has to have RSS feed,
2- auto ping is desirable,
3- pretty url support can be good, although this is hardly a problem for search engines any more.

it is a feature found in latest blogs. Social network sites like technorati has this autoping url. When you input this url in your blogging software, as soon as a post is made, the software pings the site that new content is available. The content is then transfered using rpc protocol. Have a look at technorati page. Maybe some info can be found in wordpress manual, that I do not know.
