Paypal Refuses to lift Limitation .. what now?

    Hello

    on 10th may my Paypal Account got limited.
    They asked me to change pass and security question.

    And now i got this mail.

    Dear Rohit Gupta,

    We're sorry, but your account access limitation cannot be lifted at this
    time. We need more information about your account before we can restore
    full access to your account. Please complete the steps below so that we may
    review your account further:

    - Please use the link below to access the Limited Account Access Details
    page for your PayPal account and follow the instructions to complete the
    Change Password and Change Security Questions and Answers requirement.

    Now when I click the link it leads me to Resolution Center and it still says that all Info Submitted on 10th May.

    So which steps paypal talking about?
    What should I do now?

    Did they ask for photoID or utility bills?

    I suggest you to call them, that will quickly resolve your issue rather then waiting for their mail reply.

    Wait for few more days as maybe they are reviewing your account. If no reply from them or no change in your limitation then try to contact them again with same issue in 4-5 days through email contact or better contact them through phone.

    10-May-2008: We have reason to believe that your account was accessed by a third party. Because protecting the security of your account is our primary concern, we have limited access to sensitive PayPal account features. We understand that this may be an inconvenience but please understand that this temporary limitation is for your protection.

    I live in India so calling them will be like so costly for me ..

    and i dont think they will response the mails in between 3-5 days.

    Try to call them using Gizmo Product. Its free to use IMO. Search through this forum as someone posted this few days back.

    I would assume that you signed up with Indian information, access with an Indian IP address and that you are not using a proxy to access your account. Did you by any chance access the account from place different from the norm ?

    If you are sure that you are the only one accessing the account, you can write to paypal and tell them that no one is using your account and that you did not share it with anyone.

    I have a Broadband that means a Dynamic IP ..
    Not using any kinda proxy as well. Never logged in from any other PC aswell.

    Can you please provide me there email so i can mail cause i tried to mail them at and never got reply of anyone.

    You have to send them email through their contact us (Email Support) link whichone you get at the bottom of page after log into your paypal account.

    Same thing happened to me few months back. I reside in India as well, registered with Indian Information and accessed with an Indian IP. But i had to travel to New York for some business and i logged in to Paypal from there. Dint see any issues at that time.

    Later when i came to India and logged in it showed my account was restricted, got the same mail and also had to follow the same procedures. In the end the Limitation was raised when i sent them a Utility Bill.

    But you are not getting a Utility Bill submit option as well, maybe they are reviewing your account so hold on for 2-3 full working days, and still if there is no update contact them through mail or phone and ask them about his. Most probably they will ask for a utility bill. Just upload your Electricity or Telephone bill and send it to them. It will be resolved as soon as possible. :)

    I do not think that they will answer any emails sent to them, they will do so only with the Contact Us from their website after you log in.

    Yes so he can still Login to his account. He just wont be able to send or receive payment. Thus sending them a email after logging in is still an option.

    its not possible to sue them to court since he live in India...

    hi buddy, you dont have to spend any money.... you can call PayPal for free using your home PC and your Mic... just goto www.iCall.com to call anywhere for free... there are lots of other intenet phone service provider that provide free service... just hunt them down using google.... but you have to call PayPal to remove the limits from your account.... i called paypal using iCall.com to remove my limits and it didnt cost me a damn thing....:D
