Are proxys blocked by their domain name? their title and/or their content?

nope neither, schools/offices and such places look at the logs and see where there employees/students are visiting often... once the proxy is found it is banned plain and simple... hence why so many proxies are banned everyday... hence why so many people have them ;)

The life expectancy of a proxy is not that long maybe only a few months, however, on occassions it may never get noticed at all :D

if you have a proxy with a bunch of bogus content, it can get through, however here's how Bess, N2H2, Web Washer, etc. work...

    Block by:
    Keywords
    Title
    Category
    Custom
    Description
    Wildcards
    Extensions

So never use proxy in the domain, don't mention proxy, anonymous, web surfing, safer browsing, etc.

To get around, put something like a random site with I like Cheese as the title and a picture of cheese with a Go for Cheese button to disguise the proxy submitter, also change the ?new_url or whatever to something like ?cheese_hunt=blahblah20325blabh20

The filter is only as dumb as you make it ;)
