Like im looking at Shoemoney in the ringtones niche. He gets 0.05 per click. Im paying 0.50 at my cheapest price. How is it possible that these guys get it so cheap, using the same keywords i use? Im feeling cheated here!
Well.. it depends very much on their/your content, account age, history and even on google dns servers However, I am in the same situation as you I get even $2 if I bid for the first page...
Its kind of like, if your the small man, who gives a fck? LOL. Oh well, hope all comes good very soon.
My campaigns are meant to be $495 per day, but i only get to $100 day range. Because im bidding 10 cents above minimum for major keywords, which is a lot for a small time earner like me, and i rarely get any decent positions.
How optimized is your landing page to your keyword? Are all your keywords bunched together with one ad? How is your CTR? The easiest way to lower your ad bids is to increase relevancy. So start by creating subgroups for your main keywords and write your ad specifically for that keyword. Include it in every single line of the ad. Your landing page should also contain a 3%-4% keyword density, and you should have at least 500 words on the first page. After that your site should be more than just 1 page. Build a few pages related to the keyword. Your site should also include a Privacy, About Us, as well as at least 2 external links to an authority site in your niche. This will increase your quality score and lower your bid prices. To get your costs even lower it's a matter of improving your click through rate. To do that it's a matter of testing and tweaking your ads. Try different ad positions, geo targetting. If you still can't get your ad costs lower, try Yahoo Search Marketing, or MSN. There are a few vouchers in the BST section to get you started. You can also try Facebook marketing, I have a lot of ads with $0.02 bid prices. Good luck.
Is Mr. Money using search network or content network to get nickel bids? I'm guessing it's the content network he's working and he's not bidding on "free ringtones" either...
Probably placing content network ads on the lyrics websites....Works great and you can definitely get some cheap bids around $0.05 that way...
beyondelectricdreams, that's some great advice you've shared with us. +rep How long have you been advertising on google for?
shoemoney was one of the first in the ring tone niche, so he's got better history than anyone..hence the lowest CPC's
how do you know he is getting 0.05 per click.. Also, 0.05 is most likely content and not the search network
Glad I could help, thanks for the rep. I've only been doing ringtones for a few months. I know this has been said to death but it's all about thinking outside the box. Here's another tip for those of you advertising ringtones: Upload music videos for popular artists and watermark the video with a link to your ringtone affiliate site. i.e. upload a video for Green Day (listening to GD right now ) and watermark a link to your site "myringtonesite.com/greenday". Have a landing page made specifically for Green Day with all of the song titles listed with a link to your affiliate offer. It might seem like a pain in the a** to create a landing page for every artist, but I guarantee your conversions will increase dramatically as a result. Enjoy
