He created you out of this water. From clay, He fashioned your body. He blessed you with the light of reason and clear consciousness. In your mother's womb, He preserved you. ||1|| Contemplate your Saviour Lord. Give up all others thoughts, O mind. ||1||Pause|| He gave you your mother and father; he gave you your charming children and siblings; he gave you your spouse and friends; enshrine that Lord and Master in your consciousness. ||2|| He gave you the invaluable air; He gave you the priceless water; He gave you burning fire; let your mind remain in the Sanctuary of that Lord and Master. ||3|| He gave you the thirty-six varieties of tasty foods; He gave you a place within to hold them; He gave you the earth, and things to use; enshrine in your consciousness the feet of that Lord and Master. ||4|| He gave you eyes to see, and ears to hear; He gave you hands to work with, and a nose and a tongue; He gave you feet to walk upon, and the crowning glory of your head; O mind, worship the Feet of that Lord and Master. ||5|| He transformed you from impure to pure; He installed you above the heads of all creatures; now, you may fulfil your destiny or not; Your affairs shall be resolved, O mind, meditating on God. ||6|| Here and there, only the One God exists. Wherever I look, there You are. My mind is reluctant to serve Him; forgetting Him, I cannot survive, even for an instant. ||7|| I am a sinner, without any virtue at all. I do not serve You, or do any good deeds. By great good fortune, I have found the boat - the Guru. Slave Nanak has crossed over, with Him. ||8||2|| Read this shabad/ hymn from the Sikh Holy Scriptures (Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji) today and thought would share it with you.
Nothing about AIDS, cancer, famine, war, child abusers and poverty then.... probably best to focus on the good stuff.
Has God not given you the stuff mentioned in the original post? We should be thankful AIDS/ Cancer/ War etc are important issues but a different topic completely.
I'm pretty sure the FSM gave us all those things. Don't believe me? Prove me wrong. That about sums up the logic of the OP.
No, people do that to themselves. But maybe for some people, thats hard to understand. Maybe all this violence just proves that God doesn't exist, I guess it disproves the devil also. Oh yeah and I just scratched my balls and have the same blood as monkeys so that just proves that I'm part ape. I better not eat bananas either. I better clip the hair on my arms so I can speed up evolution LOL. We can't blame God for AIDS, we have to blame our furry ancestors for having orgies in the wild over 50 bIIILLLiiionnn years ago. LOL, sorry if I'm getting off topic, I'm just doing this to bother stOx, hes a good brudder ape. I can see his blood pressure evolving as he reads this and I can see a red rep evolving LOL Peace and Love. stOx is a good guy, he loves me to. Agreed
People also grow and distribute food, strange how god gets the thanks for it though. Either god made everything or he didn't.
God made all good things, plants, animals, water, food...hash. Your question is understandable. Lucifer was once a good thing(angel), but he turned from God. Spiritual stuff sounds crazy but so is this world. Peace out Respect
so he made anything that supports the idea that he is good.... It's simply impossible to have anything even close to a reasonable discussion with someone who bases their idea of reality on their preconceived ideas. If i were a theist id have a problem with this pathetic, impotent character of god that you paint.
Your using too much evolutionist logic. God can't be painted like the big bang that might have happened(not), maybe it was a Tim Horton's donut instead that just started expanding LOL. You know what when I get to heaven I'll ask Him.
I love the way that religious people group things as good and evil as if it's a black and white issue. You say 'plants' are good, yet heroin comes from the opium poppy. Heroin is directly and indirectly responsible for the countless amounts of murders, thefts and deaths. You say 'water' is a good thing... I don't need to get into the destruction, death, disease and heartache that flooding has caused some of the most impoverished people around the world. Seriously, what's up with labelling objects and concepts as 'good' and 'bad'? Why do you automatically think that these things are 'good' and so must be created by some kind of god? This is why it's dangerous to have religious politicians, as you get people who label the Middle East as 'bad' and therefore they're the 'good' guys for fixing it.
The latest that God did for me was to get my 2 luggages filled with good suits, shoes, shirts and ties lost while I was traveling from Canada to Europe. Then He made the telephones busy every time I called the Airline, so I hanged up and by the time I finally faxed all the information to them, they told me that it has passed more than 90 days, so they can't do anything and they will not even pay me the minimum amount for lost luggages.
Written by a friend of mine Vladd, the debate that post caused roars on - http://www.vladd44.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=9152&start=0
So your saying every things bad? You can find the bad in everything, doesn't mean it isn't good to some extent. Your fist isn't bad just because you can punch yourself in the face. No One here ever declares a winner or looser of an augment so I'm satisfied
Where did I say everything's bad? I said that religious people tend to group things as being good or bad, as you did in your post. This is a dangerous way of thinking.
You keep missing the point? I said that religious people tend to group things as being good or bad, as you did in your post. I do not label things as completely good or bad.
"Debating" (if you want to call it that) with theists is one of the top 10 most useless things to do on the planet.
Sorry What I meant is, there is evil in this world. We see it every day. But evil can be caused by using something in a bad way. for example plants, like you said: Heroine can be used for pain killer or it can be deadly.
