I'm direct linking using a hop link does adwords still allow this? my display url and destination url match?
If your display and destination urls match, then it's fine. Just don't expect too many clicks, most people won't click on a link that looks like affiliateid.hop.clickbank.net/.. You're also going to get slapped pretty hard by the big G and your bid prices are going to be ridiculously high. You're better off doing a PHP redirect, just buy a generic .info domain and then create subdomains for your different campaigns.
But how is having a php redirect from a sub domain, within the "display and destination page should be same " condition? I had articles and keywords on my php redirect page (which I was redirecting to the merchant), yet , google caught it and jacked my cpc.
Say your ad's display URL is goldenretrievers.dogtrainingguides.com and your destination is the same. Your ad complies with the guidelines but your index.php for the goldenretrievers subdomain redirects to your affiliate link. I've been doing this since before the new policy was applied and I've continued to use it since without a hitch. No doubt Google will eventually bans this method and then I'll be forced to bust my a** a little and start building landing pages for every campaign, but until that day happens this is still the best way I know to link directly to a merchant.
You could also META Redirect <html> <head> <title>Please Wait...</title> <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; URL=YOUR HOP/LINK/URL"> </head> <body> </body> </html> Code (markup):
Could you guys let know your cpc ranges, using this technique? I know it differes with the niche/competition/position and all that..just wanted to get an idea..thats all. I tried it with a domain name which has good content. I just redirected from one page on this site to the merchant page using a meta refresh. My CPC is like .60 cents.
