Hi lightless, I understand you had the burn. You can take my word, money will be paid. If any MOD agrees, I can send the money to DP MOD (ofcourse, if they won't run away with my money ). j/k. All I want to mention, I am not a crook and I have good enough money to spend on my sites. I don't really like the idea to go ahead and pay $$$$ for adwords campaigns or MS adcenter campaigns. Thats wastage of money, my experience. On the other hand, if I can get good number of participants, $600 is nothing. I know you guys may have came across a lot of $1 steelers, and I really wonder what sort of business such people do. I'm not one of them. Let me know if there is any way out to prove this contest isn't BS. Regards, Andy.
I'm pretty sure that this contest is legit, my intuition tells me so Anyways, ventures are always tough at the beginning.
Thanks for showing your faith in me lightless, No doubts ventures need a hell lot of investment or be ready to provide some extremely lucrative free services to make your ventures popular Regards, Andy.
How is the winner decided? Is it by random draw, or do you pick? Can we include links to a website in the article? Hope you get some traction on this.
Hi Artifexus, Thanks for showing interest in this contest. I shall answer your questions part-by-part. You tell me how it should be done. What I have decided, to see who's article is most interesting+informative+valuable to the socity/readers/comments, keywords used, word-count, SERPs (Google is pretty fast in showing the articles in SERPs if they are unique and well written), etc. But if you think you can suggest something better, I would be glad to take those parameters into consideration. I just want the best to win, but if everyone agrees to the random draw and thinks that it is the best way to pull out winners, I don't have any objections.
Guys, Whats stopping you from posting your articles? Just thought to ask why are you guys waiting for the end of month? You see, I mentioned one VERY important metric SERP. I am going to really count the quality of your article/s based on results from SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). And for that, I will need atleast 10 days because Google 'may' take that long to show real results. My personal experience, if we use the 'ALT' and 'TITLE' tags properly on images and links in articles and use good keywords, the content gets indexed in SERPs within a couple of days but may take more time in some cases. I really need the articles posted by 20th so that I get enough time to see the results I get from your articles and that will definitely add weightage to the winner-deciding factors. Please do not hold yourself, if you have ANY questions or doubts, I'm here to answer them and once again, if you guys have any doubts about the contest being legit, I have already offered to select someone else who you trust (maybe DP Mods or anyone else you think is right for the job). This contest is a fair deal and I will pay. I'm just trying to find the reasons why there are no entries so far, although, I got good response from a lot of participants through emails. Regards, Andy.
I have a gosh darn school research project as well as freelance writing clients... I'm looking at having some time next weekend to work up a post.
Guys, I have been waiting since the beginning of May and I have been waiting for some interest on this contest. looks like no one is much interested. I really cant throw so much money for a couple of participants. I'm pulling this contest down since 'There is not a single article' from any contestant. Nothing to worry, I'm still ready to pay $10 to every participant who showed interest in this contest. Its better to waste $50 rather than wasting $600 for 2 articles. Everyone understands the logic of running contests, if there are no participants, its wastage of time and money. I will hold $20 or $30 contests like other guys here which are easier to win/participate. I will continue with my style and will keep bin money and all that, but I may have to turn this contest down. Do not take this as some sort of complaint, but you tell me, what would you do in my situation. Regards, Andy.
I was going to put up one or two articles before 20th. I'm very slow in any case. There are more designers here than article writers. All the writers are at the content creation section. You should find some way to get them involved in future contests of this type.
Hi lightless, Thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely check in the Content Creation Section, however, I guess, this time I'm simply going to offer $10 per article. Post an article and get paid $10. Flat rate, no contest. And you are correct about designers. There are a hell lot of good designers on DP. I hope, I will get good response when I offer $10 per article. If anyone wishes to participate for $10/article, I don't mind at all. Consider yourself IN. Atleast I will get 60 articles for the price of $600 as compared to 5 or a max of 10 articles if I had continued this contest which seemed pointless looking at the current situation (not a single article posted so far). I'm really feeling down that I was ready to roll down so much money in this contest, but got response from only 4 or 5 guys. Anyway, let me know who is interested in $10/article. Regards, Andy.
Put a limit on number of articles per person [for variety in articles] and give 10$/article only after you approve articles based on some guidelines. Otherwise you could get some copy/pasted or badly written articles.
Sure thing bro. Good suggestions. I will consider these points while accepting articles. Thanks for your suggestions lightless. I appreciate your help. Regards, Andrew.
