I have found that by having only one ad unit per page and placing it at the top of the page has greatly increased my click through value and rate.

I use to get around $0.05 per click now getting anywhere from $0.15- $0.60 just a quick tip just thought i would share.

    Good Luck!

you mean you removed other ad units you previously had on that page and only kept 1?

interesting theory.... might give it a shot on one of my sites..

    thanks for the info. :D

Of course, your CTR is directly related to your payout. So logically the less ad blocks you have the higher your CTR will be and the greater your payout. You just have to focus on placement.

I had one ad unit at the top of first post in my blog for many days.

CTR was low, so I added two more ad units. This increased my CTR and I saw no decrease in earning per click.

Anyway, thanks for the tip :)

If 2 ad units increases your CTR then more power to you. What I was saying is that they are related, so whatever you can do to improve your overall CTR you'll enjoy a higher amount per click.

Also if ads units on your page don't differ of rest text - CTR increase.

I believe this shows you need to do the trial and error method to see what works best for your site.
Just how target the ad is must be allowed into the mix also

Thats very nice idea , first we need to create your blog or website clean so users enjoy their stay , don't let them crowded with ads only , if they will enjoy reading stuff they will visit again and again . One add link in top one in last section and if you have too much big sidebar than in middle you can post ons add link their also .

yes, sometimes less adsense code can make you more money. moer ads you have, low paying ads get served based on the ad position. and when people click, they might end up clicking on the low payinng ads. so having only one ad unit, you will get the higher paying ads served.
