How do I include my non commercial (informative) websites to yahoo directory? Whenever I try to click on the link "Suggest a Site" it takes me to http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/dir/suggest/suggest-01.html and from there I have no were to go. How do I really submit these sites?

I'm trying to figure out this problem for more than last 30 minutes and haven't got anything till now..........Does anyone know who should I proceed?

What's this got to do with directories? Are you sites informative sites directories and or are they likely to be viewed as such?

Well, most people post in the Directories forum when they discuss the Yahoo Directory. DP's Yahoo forum tends to focus solely on search engine related stuff.

To the thread starter, I just checked out the Yahoo Directory and noticed the same thing...every time you click on the Suggest a Site link on the categories pages, it takes you to that same help page. I was able to find this link to submit commercial sites to the directory, but couldn't find a section on how to submit non-commercial sites for free. You may try to email them.

You can only submit a NFP site to certain categories in the Yahoo directory. Ie. If the category doesn't offer a free listing to you, it's because you won't get one. Regardless who you ask at Yahoo, sorry:(

The problem is how you make yahoo believe that your directory is not commercial! A site with adsense on will not be treated as non commercial.

Good point, neither can you charge for submissions, or accept any other forms of advertising without leaving yourself open to question. You may still be legitimately NFP but having these revenue generators in place will always raise an eyebrow.
