If I do a search for "site:mydomain.com" I get 14 results. Then I do a search for "site:mydomain.com/map1" and get another 34 results. Why aren't all these results in the "site:mydomain.com" search and what can I do about it?
Good question. I want to have it all in one place, because I was trying to figure out why my website has so little pages indexed, then I checked the folders and the pages were there. I would like to perform ONE check of pages indexed, not that I have to type every folder to get the full amount of pages.
Instead of "site:mydomain.com" Search for "site:www.mydomain.com" See if it show any different results.
Use Google Webmaster's Central to view your indexed web pages, also it contains other vital information that can be very useful to you. Don't forget Live! Webmaster Center and Yahoo! Site Explorer.
www- prefix doesn't help. Its the same. I use webmaster tools since years, its actually because of this tool that I've found my pages are indexed in an awkward way. Before I though that google just has a certain problem indexing some of my pages (they're all unique), but after I installed a sitemap in a subfolder and checked the indexed pages in this subfolder, this was when I found out this "issue".
Ive the same prob with the site : and link : search but if u got the right Keywords on the Top Pos u r fine , dont count on the google tags.
