Yes I do, I totally agree with this. Of course the fact that the democrats have a split vote between Obama and Hilliary Clinton doesn't help either. Because when one (obama i believe has already been chosen) the other half of the demmy voters already wanted Hilliary and didn't want the Obama to be in. Therefor splitting the democratic vote even slimmer. The republican vote is for McCain and he hasn't lost any percent of the Republican vote, as there are no other republican candidates.
Hah! McCain is getting 25% anti-McCain (Huckabee / Paul) vote in the primaries even though he was crowned the presumptive GOP nominee months ago. The so called Democratic split is going to be a non-issue by November. Yes sadly enough there are a few insane racist Democrats who will not vote for Obama in the general election - but I think they make up a small minority. Most Hillary supporters will come around and support Obama when it counts, remember this is only MAY! Four more years of George W. Bush's failed policies is just flat out not acceptable. McCain will be defeated.
Very persuasive argument. John McCain promises four more years of George W. Bush's policies on the economy (where he actually said America has made "great progress" over the last 8 years), the Iraq War (we'll be there forever with McCain in charge), health care (no health care improvements), and all other major issues. 71% of Americans disapprove of George W. Bush. If people get a basic education of what John McCain means then that's 71% of Americans who won't be voting for John McCain. Stealer - I take it you think George W. Bush is doing a great job as President?
Yes and if I could vote George W. Bush for the next 8 years I would. Just like people didn't like George but some how he was re-elected. You will see everyone wants 8 more years of Republican War Handling Business.
Yes. Obviously that's what everyone wants Stealer. You are a very wise man. You are able to see through Bush's 71% disapproval ratings (the highest of all time) to see that most people really want more of the same! And while Bush was already very unpopular among some folks in 2004 (including myself) - his disapproval ratings were about 20 points lower then than they are now. So a comparison to '04 isn't really very relevant. The Republican brand is far less popular today than it was in '04. Furthermore Obama is a far more exciting, likable candidate than John Kerry.
That's because people are worried about our soldiers, the soldiers are doing their job. People should not worry because our armed forces are forced to protect our country and fight. This is what military personnel signed up for, let the government do its job.
Our government's job is to listen to the will of the people. We're supposed to a Democracy not a Dictatorship. The people are against this war and will elect a President who is also against it (Barack Obama) rather than one who was wrong about the war from the start (John McCain.) Furthermore it's not the government's job to start unneeded wars that cause the deaths of many thousands of people while making our country less safe & hurting our economy. BTW: This is McCain's "straight talk" on Iraq “I believe that the success will be fairly easy.†[CNN, 9/24/02] “We will win this conflict. We will win it easily.†[MSNBC, 1/22/03] “I believe that we can win an overwhelming victory in a very short period of time.†[CNN, 9/29/02] “We’re not going to get into house to house fighting in Baghdad. We may have to take out buildings, but we’re not going to have a bloodletting of trading American bodies for Iraqi bodies.†[9/29/02] “It was easy, it was easy. I said the military operation would be easy.†[MSNBC, 1/10/07] Vs. “The American people… were lead to believe that this would be some kind of a day on the beach which many of us, uh, fully understood from the beginning would be a very, very difficult undertaking.†[CNN, 8/22/06] “I Knew it was probably going to be long and hard and tough. And those that voted for it and thought that somehow it was going to be some kind of an easy task, then I’m sorry they were mistaken. Maybe they didn’t know what they were voting for.†[MSNBC 1/4/07] http://www.thepresidentialcandidates.us/john-mccain-flip-flops-on-iraq/103/
It's not like we are losing the war, they have a leader we helped appoint, there is a little problem with terrorists activities in the long run having a democracy in this country will help us to have proper trade. You should stop crying about the people who signed up to defend this country, being forced to defend this country. So should the soldiers.
A leader we helped "appoint." Yeah that sounds like Democracy alright. Yeah we're "winning" the war just like we "won" Vietnam. Get a grip. The war was wrong from the start and it's still wrong now. It's a perpetual war with no end in sight. It must be ended. The soldiers in Iraq are to be commended for their service but I do not believe they are "defending this country." That is not their fault. That is the fault of the Bush admin. for using our military in an unjust way.
I don't know? I protected Obama in South Carolina as part of his security detail. When he was in SC there was no way I was voting for him. Now he has grown on me and makes more sense than the other candidates. He may be our future. We do need a change ….the economy is in the dumps.
Damn right we are worried. Easy enough to say: I especially like: So should the soldiers WHAT? Just shut up? Or value their life, and the life they can give to their families and the world? I stand with them - I do not take it lightly their life isn't worth a plumb nickel to some, and neither should they. When it's not one's ass in a sling for the fruitless venture of a Wilsonian zealot, easy enough to make statements like this. You're enlistment age, if I am not mistaken. You ever considered signing up, if you feel this strongly? Pat Buchanan on McCain: I respect what John McCain endured those many years ago. May he enjoy his retirement years in peace and honor. I do not support his bellicose vision going forward.
