I tried to check list here but it hasn't been updated since Jan 12, 2008 so I think that is not accurate to these day. Where is the directory that worth to pay for inclusion these days.
How this could be a link bait? I just want to know which directory is worth to pay for only. No link bait approach.
Some advice..... Find out where your traffic is, and buy links on those sites. Most of your traffic won't come from general directories, I assure you of that. You will find that other portal sites deliver more traffic than even some search engines. And just because somethings the biggest, doesn't mean the traffic will be forthcoming. Targeting, Targeting and Targeting is the key.
He never asked for advice he asked Where is the directory that worth to pay for inclusion these days. Why do you feel this inert desire to preach every five seconds. Do you even own a 'General' directory to make comment? You can't assure anyone of anything unless you own or are heavily involved in one.
The 'best directory'? In my opinion, it's Google. No, not Google directory, I mean Google.com - the search engine. I want to find a business quickly, I search for a company via Google, by name, address, whatever, and I'll find it 99.999% of the time. The only time I ever dive into directories is to either submit my own sites, or to scope out competitors. That's not to say there's no place for directories in the world - just, for me, for what I need, I don't need to use directories to find businesses or websites
Yeah, same as mine. I almost never used directory to find anything and use only Google.com and Yahoo.com. However, I started this thread as looking for good quality directory to built up quality link to my site only. That's it
Well you can always submit to DMOZ directory and pray you might get submitted a few years later if that.
The list you posted from the aviva directory is a good one that I know is kept up to date by Jeff because I refer to it often. However you should also evaluate directories based on your own criteria.
1 link in the "the strongest directory" (dmoz, yahoo or any other directory) won't be enough to improve your serps, you will need a little more than 1.
Not sure why - why are the copyright dates on three out of the four sites in your signature from 2006 or 2007?
After you get that one DMOZ link go on DP and brag about it like there is no tomorrow . Should get you some more exposure and maybe some backlinks .
