Can I select image ads?

I see some cool "money making" image ads that are 250x250 and banners. Is there I way I can select what ads show up?

I get the same crappy two or three 250x250 image ads on my site. I would like to filter out the bad ones if possible. No point in having them if the ads or bad or not really all that relevant.

You can disable some ads, but you cannot decide which ads will appear.
BTW, I wonder which is better, text or image ads?

You can use the competitive filter inside the AdSense control panel to block unwanted ads.

To be honest I don't see them getting a lot of clicks either.
Please just hate banners nowadays :D

Mine does well when there's a good ad on there. Getting $3.00 clicks is not uncommon. Never had one less than .30 cents. That's why I would like to filter out the junk.

"Is there I way I can select what ads show up?"

I think you cannot control which ad to show up. However, you can filter out the ads which you don't want to see via Competitive Ad Filter.

default in ads served always is image + text
if no text show up then that means that highest bidders are the text ad bidders.
if you LIMIT to image ads only
then you really have to understand that you REDUCE/LIMIT free bidding competition and that ANY image ad may appear - and if there is NO other image ad bidding for your site/pages/keyword - then the VERY lowest possible eCPM will be paid. that might be below 1 cent ....

if however an image ad appears amidst all full competition of text ads, then the advertiser has to outbid his competitors by offering more that text ads
