Participating online discussion forums drive lots of traffic to website or blog. I want to know it increase link popularity of our website. Can you describe your experience in forum posting?
It does to some extent. But generally forum postings have many signatures from participating members; thus diluting the link value to some extent. But still its free.
Forum posting brings a lot of traffic directly, from signature links.If the forum sig is dofollow then it can also help u to increase ur backlinks.
Some searchengines are not take into account links from forums, so the best impact from forums is the traffic if any. I've try once registered many users on different forums with website as a homepage. Effect on SERP was not great.
