Just want to share with you some tips to increase site traffic based on what I have read around the net 1. Write more quality content. 2. Have an eye-catcher design. Make a good design and color combination and must be easy to navigate 3. Submit to site directories 4. Link exchange to other person in the same field. 5. Work on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) 6. Join forum and message board. If it is permitted, link your site. Some people may want to check out your site. 7. Use catchy images or pictures in your post. 8. Make lens of squidoo 9. Use stumble 10. Keep improving your blog so that people may coming back
Aside from Ethel's Tips which are great, USfreeads, Article Writing and facebook are a great way to bring some traffic to your site also. Don't buy targeted traffic. I did that with revisitors.com and they make all these promises and you seem to get alot of traffic to your site but nothing ever converts Waste of Money.
Some points which i learnt shortly.. it might be said somewhere already... if so sorry... Use facebook and twitter definitely they bring lots of traffic if you are using a account more friends or followers. Use blog commenting in a diff way, don't be just commenting in all blogs chose over high PR or alexa ranked site and do a comment which is relating to the topic of the post you commenting and try to create the comment in a questioning way which might redirect to your site. Go to the site which as more UV daily and high traffic for long period of time with the same niche you are having and do there your links submission either by commenting or participating in posting(if site allows). And keep commenting continuously so that you can get a steady traffic from that particular site alone. I hope this might be helpful for atleast one .
Great tips! But hey let come clear on something. Guys dont be too excited to think that when you upload one article to ezinearticles, you are going to get 10k visits daily. Royal traffic takes time, there are like 300 undiscovered sites where you can submit your article, dont put all your hopes in one. Imagine you write an article to ezine articles and it gets 50-100 visits a day and 10-30 visit your site, good huh. But image you write 10 that is 500-1000 views daily and 100 or 300 extra traffic, even better huh? But what about if your grab that 10 articles and upload it to 50 article directories its simple math. 50*50 that's 1,500 to 2,500 views a day and its a pretty good amount of traffic to drive to your landing pages and BOOM! get a tiny nice traffic daily plus don't forget the commission.

Does submitting a single article to 10 different site is allowed???, Mean what will Google think of the repeatability of same content???
Social networking sites are good platform for generating targeted traffic, for better exposure join SN sites and go for tagging in bookmarking sites as well, if your good content does not get a path to travel then what is the use of good content? Quality content with lots of back links... If you done with content, make step on Directories submissions, classifieds, PRs and link exchanging. Mind the relevancy in all things.
I think if you want to have free traffic then social media sites are the best source of it and that traffic is called referring sites traffic. But traffic that generates business is Organic traffic and that comes only through SEO. Try to get your keywords on top of Google you will get traffic automatically.
