Hi, This may sound like a daft question but Ive read alot of people talking about Page rank and how they have PR 2,3 etc. But how do you check your rank? And is PR10 the best. Sorry for the silly question. Thanks
Pr 10 is best and only a few sites ever have it. Shoot for pr 3 and up this is when site starts to get some good traffic
iwebtool page rank checker had been Non-Functional for close to 6 weeks. Thanks for the heads up that its working properly again!
I'm having problems with the iWebTool Pagerank Checker ... it lags and takes ages for it to bring back results. I use PRChecker.info
Don't get too caught up on pagerank though... A higher pagerank doesn't necessarily mean higher rankings...
Pagerank is irrelivant to traffic. Just means a lot of sites are linking to you, the links don't to necessarily have to be relevant or generate traffic themselves either.
You can use the Google Toolbar to check your PR. Or some of the PR check sites like: http://seopen.com/seopen-tools/pagerank.php PR10 is the highest PR value. Google is PR10, Yahoo is PR9.
Keep in mind that PR is a logarithmic measurement. Like the earthquake richter (sp?) scale. I don't think people know the scaling factor, but you hear people suggest values like 6 or 7... So if 6 was it, a PR2 has six times the link juice of a PR1, a PR3 has six times six the link juice of a PR1, and so on. The higher you go, obviously, he bigger he jumps in "special power." Moving from a PR5 to a PR6 should be six times as difficult as moving from a PR4 to a PR5.
Don't get caught up in the Page rank quest. Concentrate on getting relevant backlinks and creating great content.
Yes pr10 is the best. I do link building for my company and we generally look for pr3 and higher. Hope that helps you a little bit
Read this, for starters : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PageRank You might also find this helpful: Google Tool Bar and Why it's not important.
Do the main thing. Visit Google and search for the Google toolbar. Download it and every website you visit you will be able to see the PageRank of that site. in your browser.
