To increase your rank for India; Get back links from sites with a .co.in extension.

Use a Indian based host. Use google webmaster tools and use the "Set geographic target" option.

    In webmaster tools.
Click "tools". (bottom link on left)

    Click "Set geographic target".
and click the radio button that says "Associate a geographic location with this site"

Choose the geographic location you want to be associated with and click save!

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers
    James

    # 1. Click on the more info link next your listing. This will expand the information window.
    # 2. Click Edit.
    # 3. Click Edit details, then please enter any categories that you feel best describe the type of business at this location in the boxes beneath the "Type of Place" section. Once you're finished, click Preview to see the edits you've made. If you're unsatisfied with the changes you've made, click Back to continue editing. Otherwise, click Save to save your changes.

Why doesn't my business listing appear for categories I chose in Google Maps?

We understand your concern about the keywords and categories associated with your listing. Google Maps business listings are generated and ranked entirely by mathematical algorithms. Due to normal changes in our algorithms and index, businesses may not always appear for a particular category or keyword search.

Please be assured that these changes are automated and impartial. We know that business owners sometimes feel their business should be listed in a different category, or in many categories. It's always our intent to represent available online content fairly and accurately, and we're always working to improve our search results.

If you don't know whether or not your listing is included in Google Maps, we recommend you perform a search for [ your business name in your city, zip code ].
