I feel this would leave a legacy befitting any great Presidents of the USA and would more or less rehabilitate Bush and whatever his wrong doings.

There are lot of African countries which need an invasion much more than Myanmar.

I think it could possibly start WW3

And China is probably willing to fight over its influence in any of them (including Myanmar)

Haha, no, it really wouldn't come close.

Let Vietnam take over or something. They have a booming economy.

Maybe I should add that Burma has oil and gas deposits and that China is already aiming to built a pipe for the natural gas......

Invading more countries will not help the image of the US, regardless of who it might help.

We are not invading Burma and have no intention to do so. We are wanting to give humanitarian relief. Tens of thousands of people have been killed. So we are sending food and supplies.

Even with this in mind I bet America will still get criticized for trying to help

Anything we supposedly give is not even us giving it's more like those who are financing our debt. When you're broke it's kind of hard to 'give'

We have been broke for many many years. So I guess what you just said has been going on since...well basically since our creation as a nation and our very first debt.

There is not always a hidden agenda. Tell me what could the agenda be in this case?
And guerilla. What is the point of linking to that thread when it has nothing at all to do with this?

No way GRIM, we can still give away your kids and grand kids prosperity! Why not mortgage the future now too? Why are you so greedy? Sell your kids into wage slavery!

    Geez man.

This is an extraordinary event. The storm that hit Myanmar is of the scope but less powerful than hurricane Katrina that hit the US. The government is slowing relief.

Anyone who watched the events of Katrina can see how deaths will mount as aid is restricted.

Of further amazement is that this section of Myanmar comprises a large portion of its food production.

Rice production will drop dramatically further creating pressures on a world food crisis.

The French proposed that the UN security council take actions to force rescue operations on Myanmar but it was essentially vetoed by China with other nations agreeing with China that an invasion is inappropriate.

meanwhile its an extraordinary human event with a government essentially setting restrictions that will end with enormous volume of deaths as the world stands by.

Reports that come out of the nation speak to the fear that citizens have of the government. It evidently rules with an iron fist.

    Its an extraordinarily sad event.

China should take the lead on this with the other countries that wish to cooperate. Considering that the Chinese hold 1.5 trillion dollars in currency reserves that could well manage to provide assistance.

Everyone knows we only use preemptive strikes to kill stuff.

Besides, there's no $$$$ interest in Myanmar.

To put it bluntly, America's politicians don't give a shit enough to do such a thing.
