I saw a thread here with a guide on how to make money with a video blog...if you can make money with a blog about random funny videos wouldn't you make way more money with a blog about good pornos? or it doesnt have to be a blog just a general site where you(the site owner) upload porno videos to stream or download and just put ads on the site....
The problem with porn sites is the monetization process. You can earn good amount of money with Adsense on normal sites with high traffic but on Porn sites you should stick with low paying PPC programs. Another way of earning money with a porn site is becoming an adult affiliate and sell different movies and products for a %
There is not such thing as easy money, but erotic sites can make you good money, but you have to work hard. Either you have to get listed on TGP-sites such as free6.com, thehun.com etc., or you have to work your way up in google. Or you have to buy traffic. Your only way to make good money of this is via affiliate.
I believe these sites are harder to market. Many directories won't list them, so SEO is your best bet. If you are just linking to an affiliate site, you have no control over fresh content and cannot do link exchanges.
I think mainstream is easier. It's a lot harder building up a sale in the adult market unless you know what you're doing. Many people will look at your free porn, but when it comes time to ante up you better be offering something other then an affiliate tour page. -Scott
there are no such thing as 'easy money' only 'hard earn money'..if you want to embark into adult biz. you should start with galleries or freesites submission. besides that, you also have to choose your niche carefully, don't go for the over promoted one.
With newsgroups, torrents and blogs offering "free" porn what would you offer that would cause someone to want to pay?
Running a serious adult site takes up a LOT of time and effort...it's far from easy money. There are much easier niches to deal with out there
True. Partially true, mostly false. There are many ways to make money, and those are not all of them. Plus it depends on what kind of site, among niches and other factors. Very very very wrong. Go to the adult boards, and ask long time affiliate marketers about their conversions over the past 2-4 years. They are easier on so many levels. It amazes me how so many can be locked in these mind sets. G is not the only way to get your links out there. Correct. You do need to understand marketing, and I would recommend smaller niches. Preferably one you actually like and understand. As you can see from my sig, and conversions over 6-7 sites for years. Obviously I know my market. Conversions is the name of the game. Not traffic. You need good niche content, and know how to convert it using the tools. There is more to it that just throwing a bunch of crap at the wall and hoping something sticks. 2 cents
Not easy money, harder to monetize, some adult sites need pop ups, banners, links and similar combined to make money, or some will go with zango/seekmo. A lot depends on the traffic quality and origin. For instance with Adsense you can make up to $6 comfortably per 1000 page views, with adult you will be looking at $1-$2 per 1000 PVs or less.
Incorrect. Depends on the niche. The more vanilla mainstream porn, yes. Other smaller niche markets, not so much so.
Depends on the type of site. "Adult" comes in a lot of different flavors... tubes, tgp, clip stores, pay sites, free sites, link dumps, link lists, blogs, and so on. Using vast over simplified stereotypes is wrong when characterizing the industry. Most adult webmasters hate Zango for starters. I will leave it at that for now.
I can only reflect on my own experiences .... I don't like seekmo either and stopped using it sometime ago.
Well, it is a very competitive market, but once a few people become regulars, they usually get viral.
This market is very saturated - you would need to focus on a very narrow niche - some fetish. The problem is more in selling these sites afterwards - pretty unsavory market
Mmmm sometimes, focusing on current events and multiple keywords helps a lot, a thing with porn web sites is Google wont index the filth or full blown porn web sites, some words are instantly trashed or can only be found with adult filters turned off - this makes the competing sites fewer. My tips are target "keyword phrases" and stay focused on news / current events - celebrity niche does well and reality television.
