    Hello,

Something bad happened to me, but of course, I didn't accept.

On msn, I receive someone that ask for my DP account. This is the message I receive.
    "
    says:
Hi, I would like to ask a favor.
I need a Digitalpoint account to use because
I can't be bothered to wait 2 weeks to be able to post, and
I'd like to post some freebie offers and sell a few things.

If you'd be greatful enough to share your account with me,
I would be really happy. For security measures for you
we will make a password we both agree, of which will NOT
be your current password. I don't want you to get hacked
or anything. I won't change any of the account details
    so I'd really appreicate it.."

Mainly, someone asked to get in my msn contact list, than 1 second later (copy past message) I receive the message.

SO, I THINK YOU SHOULD NOT ACCEPT ANYONE ASKING FOR YOU DP ACCOUNT.

Off course, I did not share mine.

    -end of the story.

There is a recent thread on this too. But normally the fraudsters as to buy accounts rather than share for free. Whatever it is never do that and never trust them.

Glad that at least you tried to get some information for eg his previous DP member name, that would help the mods do something :)

That is fishy, why would they need to log in and use your account when they could just ask you to post something for them.

Once you bit the bait, they will login and change the password, you can say good bye to your account :)

That's kind of funny, why would someone just let someone they don't know use their account - at least it's understandable when people offer money for the account (even though it's still wrong) That person is a joke!

I've seen pop ups where xxxx wants to add you to their contact list. I've always declined. I just had a bad feeling about it. To me it's either a scammer or a mistake. Either way I didn't accept.

I wonder How he knew you had a DP account?

I guess to a scammer it's a good idea. If they can get someone to give them access to an existing account with a lot of posts and high rep then they can peddle their crap and make a little money. When the account gets banned then they simply move on.

I'm glad I saw this post. It'll make me more cautious.

    Rep given

Dumb scammer though, nobody would share the account.
Often I get email saying "you have a pending PayPal payment, Verify your account". Hah, these guys should get a life. Sons of guns.

What is that, taking chances for a dumb DP member that will just let him get it's account. This scammer is soooo stupid. Anyway hope our great DP friends here; that knows very well on how to deal with scammers could atleast create a thread and POST some information on how to avoid or handle this kind a people, I think that will be great to have...
