"a user find my site from yahoo search and then open my site and closed. then how can google track this movement ?" Put the Google analytics code in all pages of your site and you will then track your users.
Alexa tracks the visitors that they show through their Alexa toolbar. This is why a lot of people say (and I can agree) that their traffic prediction (as I call it) is not accurate, because there are nishes where a lot of people use the toolbar and there are nishes, where noone uses the toolbar. P.
If you have adsense code in your website code, then Google can record every single move on your website. If you do not have any code from Google, than they cannot record anything.
Alexa show only the Traffic rankings of our site not how the visitors navigate through our site or how long visitor stay at our site or how many of them are repeat visitors. Alexa get the traffic data from its Alexa toolbar installed by users same like google does from its google toolbar. But the point is that how many users has installed Alexa toolbar. I never came across any user who has installed alexa toolbar and if majority of the users hasn't installed the toolbar then how come the alexa data is accurate. Visit this link to know how alexa works http://www.alexa.com/site/help/traffic_learn_more Cheers
ofcourse Google does track every possible way thing. Toolbar+Search History+Adsense+Analytics=Very useful data for Google Urchin was 390$ per month before Google bought them, now it is free and is called Google Analytics. Why do u think Google made this useful app for free? ofcourse to use the data gained for improving serps.
LOL, stop it people. Only google and alexa knows the answer. Perhaps they are laughing at us right now as they read this thread.
Alexa works by using the data that it has from people with its toolbar installed. The alexa toolbar has been downloaded over 10 million times, however there are probably less than 200,000 active users. Alexa does not know how many people visit your site it can only estimate the amount based upon the percentage of toolbar users compared to internet users as a whole. For this reason the figures are very inaccurate below the 100,000 mark and if you have had a site in the top 100,000 you would know it is inaccurate even above there. Because it works with such a small sample of the internet as a whole it should be taken with some scepticism.
its not like dear !!! probably, its very imp. for those professional who works on serp . becouse ur cpanel stat is different from google analytics. have u ever think y its so ??? probably go on reading u will conclude something !!!
Google can track clicks to your site from organic results in SERPs. It might use this data to gauge how popular your site is at a certain position in SERPs. Alexa has changed its algos lately and now collects data from non-Alexa toolbar users I think.
I don't think it uses any other source of data ( i might be wrong). I think what happened is they normalised there results and downgraded lots in the technology sector. The reason for this was in some sectors there was a much higher chance of users having the toolbar installed which gave these sites a misleading rating.
Hi All, Now its topic now become very interesting and important also. So keep share your ideas here. We are all in big confusion, so it is necessary to come out this confusion. Now tell me one thing that Alexa has a option which is called Movers and shakes in which we can see the which site has a big move up and which site has move down. Apart from that Alexa also has a feature that it tells us that in which country which site is opened most. As far as concerned about Google analytics, google adsense, google toolbar, alexa toolbar, I visit a lot of cyber cafe where i see thousands of computer where i see there is not google toolbar or alexa toolbar. And the sites does not have adsense. So it is proved that google, yahoo, msn and alexa are not depend on the toolbar, analytics, adsense etc. Now i am in big confusion, Please solve it out now. Thanks and regards
