MSN is helping too, search for Myanmar the link is on the mid right side of their homepage colored orange.
Anybody knows where you can donate using paypal? That's the least I could do to help those victims. Legitimate sites please, at least I know the fund is being channeled to the right organization.
It is a very very nice gesture from Google, but what I had read is depressing, the Myanmar Military Junta only allows a plane loaded with aid supplies to land. The rest are all tied down by paper work.
Its because of USA Military nature. If you take a example of Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan then all things are clear. Myanmar thinks that its security will be threaten with entry of USA military.
I know its charity and all but do you really think that google would give a payment option for its competitor?
I went to unicef site and seems that they only offer payment options using direct CC. Sigh... Anyway, It's really depressing to see at times like this, politics has been preventing aids from reaching the victims.
i think todays great option is paypal. It would be better if paypal also follow what google does. Ask their user to donate by paypal. I think paypal can be more effective. Also i have some doubt in google. I think there are doing this to increase their checkout customer. Hope not so there are doing but doubt is doubt.
I Just got a secure link for paypal option. Paypal providing relief to myanmar. You too can donate at http:// www. thepaypalblog.com/weblog/2008/05/myanmar-relief.html Please bear with the above link. Make it proper. DP do not accept live links from me because i am just 6 days old here.
Myanmar is not allowing aid agencies inside the country. And they are only accepting aid from neighboring countries.
US was thinking of just flying over the air space and dropping the aid down to the survivors. I think they should try a few precision missiles for the military junta as well.
I've finally found paypal option for donation. This should be reliable. https://www.networkforgood.org/donation/process/PaySelect.aspx
