hi i want to create a educational forum, please help in creating this forum i have download free script also. but don't know how to start. please help
Usually with scripts you upload to your server and run an install file. You will have to setup a database on your server as well. Which script have you downloaded?
SO i assume you have a domain name, and I also assume that you have web hosting account. With these basics, pray and read the documents that have come with your script generally start with README and follow up with INSTALL (guide) to guide you or reveal the script name so that someone familiar may guide you with the steps / guide you to online documentation for script if available or suggest a suitable remedy for your requirement. Kindly let me know which script have you downloaded. Most Hostings do come with Built-in Scripts in CPanel Fantastico. Why not install it from there.?
is there any of these free scripts you can install that don't either come with adverts or have the providers name in the domain name? also i seemed to remember reading a post saying wordpress forums were no good as they had many bugs or security flaws? was/is this still the case?
Well either install myBB from your CPanel Fantastico, if your hosting has it. Otherwise, upload all the Files to your Public_HTML Folder via FTP, Then run the Install.php Online, via File Manager. Thats it. Follow the instructions and you'll do fine.
phpBB is the best free forum script by a mile... if you have the cash, fork out on vBulletin because it is a lot better than phpBB..
Yeah of course you can. All you need to do is create your new logos and upload them as the current logo name or find where its coded and put in the new name. Colour etc can be edited in the template CSS. You should probably look online for free templates and find a colour scheme you like. That will save you some work.
