Well ive seen a lot of people speak of White Hat and Black Hat and other things such as Grey hat. Were not talking about the Operating System Red Hat and the different products they have are we? Ive searched for this on the forum and couldnt find a clear answer. Could somebody clarify or enlighten us in the simplest of words what White Hat/Black Hat refers to? Im sure a lot of us would like to know also. Cheers
Blackhat means like almost illegal way to do something. ( Eg, some methods to get free clickbank products) Whitehat means normal way to do something. ( Eg, making money with blog) Good guys are the whitehat and the darkside are the blackhats.

RedHat = Pure Illegal BlackHat = Illegal but can do under some limits WhiteHat = Legal and Pure There is no Such thing as GreyHat .. I dont know why people use this word
Black Hat SEO means doing stuff that's against the search engines' rule. Black Hat Hacking is busting peoples' programs or systems. White Hat anything is being a good boy or girl and Gray Hat are people who feel they can justify what they're doing.
lol i seee! interesting... Now some are talking about illegal legal.. im assuming this is on a more general level? Im confused others are mentioning search engines... does it apply every where or just search engines?
Black Hat SEO means dirty tricks to fool the search engines, Googlebot, Search engines may think your site is good and rank your site well. White Hat SEO means right way to make Googlebot Search engines and vistors love your site and get your site rank well.
Greyhat is like this: SITE1 (blackhat seo) --METHOD---> SITE2 (Whitehat seo) The method of redirecting your blackhat traffic to white hat is called greyhat... you use dirty tricks to fly under the radar, but use a different method to push the visitor to your whitehat site.
