In another forum (private) I came across an unverified statement that EPN reps have acknowledged privately that they are having a serious problem with tracking and displaying conversions. I don't want to start a rumor here, but I'm wondering if anyone is able to lend any substance to this assertion. With CJ there were similar problems, and eBay implemented a "make good" on missing conversions for March which was never discussed anywhere by them that I've been able to find. So, it would not be outside the realm of possibility that those problems have persisted with EPN. Please don't hijack this thread to complain about how you've been horribly mistreated by EPN. There certainly are enough of those around the web.
this is not a rumor... here's the email they sent to me when i asked if their tracking was messed up: Dear Matthew, Thank you for writing eBay in regard to commission. Our technical team is still working on it, Once it get resolved, we will contact you.
This is pretty interesting news though I'm not very surprised. I love eBay (been selling there very profitably for 8 years) but this would not be the first time they rolled out a poorly tested major update. That being said I did pretty well last month but all these complaints make me wonder if I actually sent them more business than was tracked.
eBay reported 1807 clicks for April. I believe about 500 of those to be bots or some sort of tracking mistake as my average for the month was about 40 clicks per day. I had 2 days last month that had around 250 clicks on each day which were very out of the ordinary. Google Analytics showed no traffic spikes on those specific dates so I figured something was out of kilter on those days.
I suspect that EPN has far more issues than addressed. Perhaps we should be a little more patient or just move over to other affiliate program.
Overreported clicks with no corresponding increase in revenue? Why in the world is that a good thing?
It was probably my post you saw potent. I am STILL waiting for them to get back to me after telling me its an issue on their end. 7 days now of silence from EPN support...
Does anyone else get the feeling that the new program is being run by a couple of senior-year-of-college, spring semester interns? I'm sure eBay will save a lot of money bringing the program in-house, but why would they think they could make that conversion on the cheap?
yea. pretty ridiculous. what is even more frustrating is some people arent having problems. my buddy is making just as much as he use to, but maybe he is actually making more. i have lost about 95% of my ebay revenue since switching to ePN, so there's gotta be something wrong.
What doesn't make sense to me is that ebay is the one who provided the data to CJ for validation. Why aren't they using the same process??? If they can provide better data to CJ, why not to themselves? I think the issue is with the cookie. I've seen posts where certain users claim that their numbers have gone up surprisingly with EPN. Maybe they're mixing up campaign id's, is that possible? Somebody else is definitely getting my commissions I was looking forward to crossing the $2K mark this month, but at the current rate, I'll be lucky to see $1 with EPN.
Without launching into another thread about how low our earnings are (you're quite right Potentmix, there are enough of those), I would frankly be relieved to find that there IS a tracking problem, since otherwise I don't really have an explanation for the low conversion rate. If there is a problem I just wish they'd get it sorted out soon so we can get back on track.
