the first thing that i hate about some sellers - domains, links, websites and so on is: BID 50$ BIN 100$ no problem so far. someone bids 60$ response: "i got 70$ in PM..anyone goes for more?" i think that's really a cheap trick to get more for the deal.why don't they post the PM on the thread? What do you think about this? this was just a random example of a transaction..
yeah true, but i agree with bpriu at the end of the day auctions are public and therefore all bids should be made public, period.
I think some sellers do not want to sale others their stuffs at $60.If you find someone waste your time, simply do not do business with them, that is it.
If what they're saying aren't true, it'd be their loss if no one bids higher. If the 2nd highest bidder backs out, they can't do anything about it. They won't buy their own product, won't they?
sawz i believe you are a moderator or admin..if so please clarify this for me "Bumping thread - Bumping is when you reply to your own thread with the sole purpose of bumping it to the top of the forum. Also, a worthless reply to old threads can also be considered bumping." i've seen about 100 posts replying to themselves 2 or 3 times like noone? or nobody interested or still available..is that considered bumping?
It's such an obvious trick - depending on how much you want something, just ignore it and bid higher or go somewhere else -
I guess it their way of getting a higher amount for what they are selling. They should be transparent and say that all bids must be posted. No pm bids allowed.
I have done a lot of private sales at DP where the buyer has BINed an item via PM as they dont want the public to see them buying sites. However if one of them ever wanted to place a private BID I would always ask them to post it on the auction to make it safe. People will always try gray hat tricks like getting a friend to make a fake bid or pretending they have a PM bidder.
and another thing..what's that pm me the url? and in response "i don't want google to drop my site if i list it here" what does that supposed to mean? if i put a link here google will drop my pr or anything?hmm interesting
Some people may not want others to find out they are buying something. But this can also backfire on the seller, if you stop bidding and they faked their PM bid, it will drop way down. Might be a good idea to send a PM to the seller asking for the PM offer details. If he doesn't want to send it to you in a PM, then you know enough.
friend...this is the MarketPlace called..when you go to the market and buy a beer..do you hide it from other customers at the checkout? or do you negotiate the price with the seller? it should be a transparent auction for something you sell...here is what i really think: they are bumping threads with things like "say SOLD, say pm details" and then again "pm sent, sold a copy to..." they want to get listed on the 1st page again and again, not leaving others to post a thread..
I agree, it is the most annoying thing ever and its complained about all the time. Whilst they say that dont want there site to come up in googles index showing the sales thread a tinyurl is a way around it, from what i have seen, not alot people know about it
