If you own a bidding directory please consider adding it for free (no recip. link req'd) on my new site - The Bid Rater Unlike many other rating systems around, mine is designed to give more accurate indication of a site's worth by using an algorithm that does not have a set ceiling (i.e. 10 or 100). You can also check what your site's (or any other site's) Bid Rating would be. the higher the number, the more value (from a link perspective) the site has. FYI, Google.com has a Bid Rating of 18,684,501 as at the time of this post.
Is this free? "There are 2 options for being listed, either by providing us with a reciprocal link, or by paying a $5 one-time fee. Note that your link back to us must be located on your main page, and must remain in place for your site to remain active in our database"
No deebee its not free. Its a paid/reciprocal bid directory list. He announced it in the right section of the forum yesterday and got little response so has no posted here for some reason. I also don't see how it differs from bidilicious which was more of an original creation. Also if you are aiming at showing which bid directories are more worthy for webmasters, you'd be better adding sites to it yourself otherwise it'll be quite an empty resource.
Mikey, I have now made it free to list - no reciprocal required. I have added a post to this effect in the previous thread. It differs from Bidilicious in 2 main ways as per my post here. I may well get around to adding bidding directories to it myself, but for the moment I am working on building other functionality into the site (e.g check your own site's rating).
I add my bid directory.Good for you that you decide to keep it free until it get populate. As for mikey i would say that a little competition never do any harm.Better have 2 rating systems than one.
It would be better if you combine the site name and url.. I mean hyperlink the site name.. looks good, i will be adding my soon.
thanks for accepting your Directory. But having looked at the general rating I think instead of basing it on page rank like other rating sites do you are just taking backlinks as the most important feature and maybe page rank a bit too. Not too sure if thats the way a directory should be rated, but it your rating system at the end of the day so you decide. thanks, hecto
UPDATE - I have update the algorithm for The Bid Rater to provide a more accurate rating spread in relation to PageRank. The new algorithm now exponentially gives a higher rating for a higher PR number. Of course, this is only a portion of the algorithm, and still has a custom weighting applied to it. What it does do however is help to recognise how much more valuable a PR6 is from a PR2 etc. All stats have been updated to reflect this recent change. Not all sites have changed positon, but some have.
