I know India was under the british rule...but starting for 1947 wasn't anymore...so you had some time to develop, right? British didn't take ALL of your gold, iron, salt, other metals, coal,etc...right? Hong-Kong was under the british rule too...and you see how Hong-Kong looks today, right? Macao was under portuguese rule...and you see how it looks... ...I cannot vote yet...I'm not an american citizen...I'm a permanent resident and that means I cannot vote until I'll get my citizenship...and it takes several years... I didn't say about the companies in that statement...I said about the countries as a whole...companies can get down, of course...more easily than a country...
Yep...India was...so was the Roman empire, China, the Otoman empire, the British empire...Soviet empire...and who knows, it might happen to America too...the world is changing... Those indo-canadians where actually indians with canadian citizenship ? One of the renown venture capitalist in Silicon Valley is an indian called Vinod Koshla (but he is indian with american citizenship)... If you tell me that indian scientists are doing this or doing that I can tell you a tons of romanian scientists who have done this and that ...and Romania is MUCH smaller country in both population and land.
India was Rich 1000 years ago but because of foreign invasions we lost all our wealth. Now again we are becoming a prosperous country! Always Remember India got Independence only 60 years ago!In these 60 years we have developed so much that now we are competing with major countries?(In fields like Space,Defence we are atleast one of the major players but not like USA and Russia). Where was USA 60 years after it got Independence(In 1827?) Whether it was like India? The Answer is Big No.Now think of Future India after 230 years of Independence Definitely it would be a major Superpower. Do you know another thing ?Boeing and Airbus are competing with each other to set up shops in India why? In India Airlines Industry has just started to boom now So they are very eager to grab their own market share...(because of demand) No comments, Each country has a different political system! yes it makes products cheaper but for whom? for US and UK ! No.... In particular case Nokia has plant in chennai to cater to local demands and it's not exporting phones manufactured to outside India Same can be said about other car manufacturers. US economy is already in recession , We are growing at a rate of 8-9% per year Even a Fifth grader would accept that India would catch up with USA in few years from now! India is market that remains largely untapped whereas USA is already saturated market for many companies!that's why I am saying India will become of one of the economic superpowers in few years from now!
India launched 10 satellites in one go. Ha! @MG133, Tamil is the state language of tamil Nadu. In case[obviously] you did not know. Yes, Inida has a national language, maybe that is why every railway station and airport in the country have their names written in HINDI and NOT FRENCH.
You were under the foreign invasions because you weren't united at that time..and you were technologically way behind western countries... Romania gained the independence in 1877 and 60 years after that it was one of the most developed, economically, country in Europe...but then we just got this plague called communism so we went to a free fall for 45 years... ----------- Despite significant economic progress, a quarter of the nation's population earns less than the government-specified poverty threshold of $0.40 per day. In 2004–2005, 27.5% of the population was living below the poverty line. ----------- from Wikipedia... Is it so useful to have rockets when a third of the country is UNDER the poverty line (and other are just a little above)? In terms of space you are not even like China yet...not to mention Japanese...and both of these countries has send men in space with their own rockets. USA was quite advanced at that time, actually. You didn't have any railways at that time, they did. Most of the east coast was modeled after british architecture and the life felt like in Britain (Boston, New York). They had also voting at that time...which many countries didn't have...they were a true democracy: no kings or emperors and had the congress and senate to decide on may things. You forget one thing: USA will not just stay, sit and look at you how you do progresess...they will move too...and imagine where USA will be in 230 years.. Yes, you will make progress...no doubt about that...but to be at the same level as USA, well, you need to eat a lot of rice ...and I mean a lot... ---------- In 2007, estimated exports stood at US$140 billion and imports were around US$224.9 billion. Textiles, jewellery, engineering goods and software are major export commodities. While crude oil, machineries, fertilizers, and chemicals are major imports. India's most important trading partners are the United States, the European Union, and China. ---------- from the same Wikipedia... They are competing between them ...not with indian aviation industry (which pretty much doesn't exist)...they are accustom to compete between them on other markets too... Nokia from Romania will export some of the product outside of Romania...mostly Europe...of course, romanian market isn't as large as indian. Hehe...US was in recession in 2000 too...and it got better in 2-3 years...it was in recession in '87...and it got better...and so on... You won't catchup with US in few years...you are dreaming to, but not gonna happen even US will stay in recession for 2-3 years... And what happens when indian market will become saturated as well ? Will India fall down? US market is a high demand market with educated consumers...you can't enter in this market with bad products...whereas on an untapped market anything sells ...that was the case of Romania after communism fell: it was an untapped market and anything sold. But after several years when the consumer got more educated bad products weren't bought anymore. Quality was the name of the game (still is)...
Having a national language ON paper and using it practically both are two different things. While India has HINDI as national language it's NOT used as national language as ALL people in India DOES NOT understand and speak hindi. So it's actually useless. So even though every railway station and airport has its name written in hindi NOT ALL can read it making it useless !!
Why are you shouting without having any idea how much Brits exploited us? And before brits also others did the same. And all other US ppl have reight to vote. Why did they choose bush? Some one said about fifth grader. In hidi dialodge "Shayed mg1313 Pachvi pass se tez nahi hain, SRK would know" Just a comment. Nothing personal.
You are absolutely right. ONLY a fifth grader can say that not anyone matured. BTW are you in fifth grade ?? I am too from India but don't make such baseless statements. We are NOT progressing by 8%-9% but by 7%-7.5% and add to that the problem of inflation rate of 7.53% which will only hamper our progress.
I know a lot more than you !(Economics) I am not making baseless statements ,I am just quoting it from RBI reports
Romania's treasury was seized by russians (the new communist regime) right after Word War I (we trusted russians to keep our treasury because we were almost to be invaded by the germans)...and the value of that is far beyond of the value of your diamond. And our treasury is still there to this day...we are negotiating with them...but slim chances to get something back... We did some back, like ancient artifacts from 2000 years ago...but that's it (see it here http://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tezaurul_de_la_Pietroasele ). Well, I guess Hong-Kong can feed their people better than India...no need for rockets to do that ... Hehe...now let me teach you some history lesson about rockets and planes ... Did you know about this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermann_Oberth ? I bet you didn't (read and you will find out he was romanian)...the fact that you can launch now rockets in space it's owed to him too... Did you know about this guy too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henri_Coandă (read and find out he was THE FIRST to build a jet aircraft in 1910...and yes, he was romanian) Checkout this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traian_Vuia (yes, he built the first airplane to take of and land like a normal airplane, on wheels in 1906...not like Wright brothers did in 1903 when they had to use a ramp...o, he was romanian too) Oh, and here is another guy born very close to my place: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurel_Vlaicu (he was one of the first pilots in the world in 1911 when he built his own plane and won several international prizes) We did launched some small satellites with the help of Russia in the communist times. We even had our man in space on a russian station in 1980: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dumitru_Prunariu (your first man in space was launched 4 years later - of course, with the help of russians). So, for us it's relaxing to know that we had our contribution to flight in space and aviation. Romania is a small country (22 millions) and made a huge contribution thru these people...at this time, we would better off to let others with much greater resources build the rockets...we will build satellites if we want to ...and use the rest of the money to improve the quality of life for our people (or finishing our modern nuclear power plant). Oh, check this one: http://www.news.com/DIY-satellites-reinvent-the-space-race/2100-11397_3-5863564.html (even the kids can do it...hahaha!)
Yeah, and each of those satellites are 50 kilograms each (like 25 pounds)...haha! And check above my post about rockets...which I bet you didn't know ... I was saying about India's national language, not about a particular state...read better next time. And I found out (after soooo many discussions) that your national language is Hindi (my bad, I should have checked Google or wikipedia before asking you...I wasted my time trying to get a straight answer ...no offense).
India was under british rule coz some indians were more inclined to be the slave of brits than be freed. Seems like that attitude is still present now.
You are indian so you know better that me the language stuff, I guess...I never been in India but I want to at some point in my life...
I have not seen any Indian fighting to defame India as I am seeing here. Though I know the reply will be "I am not defaming but giving the fact". Shame that we are still not strong enough to say what is true and what is false clearly.
Technologically behind??? See this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tipu_Sultan#Rocket_Artillery_in_War But that will never happen to us! Do n't compare it will Dollar terms To be true, A India can have normal food three times a day with $1.(Only cost of the food) Though inflation is increasing , it's still possible! currently I am spending $1.2 (Rs 50) on my food daily! My Indians I can clarify what I am eating daily and how it's possible(I am a techie from chennai) India is not a third world country , Only your are saying this the stats are outdated ,India is not same as it was before 4-5 years... that would take some time but as of now we have the technology to send man into space... Recently we have tested this Reentry of space vehicle successfully! You are saying about Railways ? We have one of the largest Rail networks in the world (Second). Is this not development according to you!
My people was exploited too...so... Ask them ...next year won't be Bush anymore... In my country he have a custom (which I see is in US too among americans): if a guest doesn't understand our language and if speak his language then lets all speak his language so he can understand. That means we are polite to the stranger, not rude. We are not talking behind... The fact that you speak a language here I don't understand (and many who read this don't) shows your rudeness...if you finish and don't have any more valid arguments then you start saying things...is this how you behave normally? I could say something in my language but I won't...I prefer to stay fair and speak only in english.
