    Hello,

We have a dedicated server with huge application that use intensively one database and we notice that we block at 15000 people / days ... our website is http://www.arkadia.com

    So my questions are :
    * is the server can be full and this why we block at 15000 people / days ? most important, how to check it ?
    * is the DNS (www.enom.com DNS server) can be not fast enalf or not wheel configured ? how to check it ?
    * is the hosting company can be not good enalf (low bandwith for exemple or someting else)? again how to check it ?

Thanks you by advance for your help !

What do you mean by "we block at 15000"? is that the maximum number of connections or visitors? What are you running? what type of database? which webserver do you use? have you attempted to optimize your database? is the database hosted on the webserver? if so, why?

At the beginning our traffic grow fastly every month. but for the last 6 month we notice that we stay at 15000 visitor /days ! this why i become to thing that we can have a problem somewhere (the server can be saturated, dns too slow, or hosting company not very good, bandwitch too slow, etc..)

this why i ask you advice to find where the problem is :)

    Windows Server 2003, IIS 6

We use 2 databases engine: mysql and Firebird

yes we continually work on it, but for now my probleme is i don't really know if the problem is in the fact that the server is saturated or something else ! i don't know how to check

yes :( we need to change it !
but my probleme, before to invest in load balancer and server for the WebServers and the Database server, i want to be sure that we need it ! actually when i connect on www dot arkadia dot com i don't feel that the website is slow (average response time is 0.2 secondes)

    thanks again !

Which edition of MSSQL are you using? There are RAM limitations on certain editions, so even if you have 12GB of RAM the MSSQL can't use more than 1GB, for example.

I said edition, not version. MSSQL 2005 Express, Workgroup, Standard, Enterprise - those are editions.

I think you have reached your limit, there are only 15000 visitors to your forum max, since you have not seen any growth it could be marketing and SEO issue and has nothing to do with server, unless you've noticed slow down on the forum itself, in any case I don't think there is a limit of per day since I assume you are not getting angry email from members not being able to connect to server.

you are probably right, i assume too! but for exemple when i connect to the server from russia, sometime i can not download the page and need to come back after ... in france never have this problem ... this why i was talking about testing the hosting company ...

i don't know if it's possible to know how much request we loose because of server busy or bandwith full or anything else ...

Are you on a dedicated server? if so you should be able to see your logs, problem with accessing your site from Russia could be several things, one of which is bad connection in Russia, in any case see your stats, check your email and ask your members if they've had any issues connecting.
