Update content regualarly or build backlinks?

What is your primary job for the day? what do you think is more important? building back links or content each day? or both?

I think, Both are the Important for website to Achieve more and good target in search engines.

bit first i will prefer to work in content after that back links.

I try to do a balance of both, posting on these forums builds my backlinks and then i spend the other spare time i have writing/reading seo tutorials.
I do not have much time at the moment though, so my websites are affected by this, but hey

i think both are important important but in daily basis's content of page not changes so i think in daily basis building back link is necessary each day.

 

I strongly depends from your web-site. I've got some websites with permanent content which was not changed last two years. My job for these sites is only check monthly backlinks and if it is necessary add some more.

Other sites required content updating every day.

 

Yep both are essential but if you consider more on unique and quality content, it will help you in link building natural way.

 

content is the king and little bit social marketing on forums and website can create good strength . If you have something special which we need than everyone will come to you remember .

 

My priority is content because I don't hurry with improving my PR...I want as much visitors as possible!

Good content will help you build links organically so that should be the priority of most webmasters. For SEO's it is important to do both.

 

updating content and building links goes hand-in-hand.. you must do it concurrently or just keep 'em in balance

 

I go for every day content updates. Building back links is also important, but am more into quality content right now.

It's Step 1 and 2, you need inbound links to be well positioned with the Search Engines and regulary updated content to keep SERP for the targeted key-words.

 

Both are necessary according to the SEO point of view.

"You need to do both this process regularly"

 

Build content first. For each new page you build add at least one backlink to that new page. Then create another new page and repeat the process. You should always try to create backlinks for all of your unique pages.

Obviously if your site is dynamically created and you have thousands of pages, it may be impossible to create external backlinks to all pages, but if you have a small growing site, adding backlinks to each page of content is important.

However, I would suggest to spend 2/3 time on writing new content, and 1/3 time spent adding new links.

 

i do both on a regular basis. at the beginning when i start a site, i spend more time writing/updating and ten start building links. then once the site is done, i do periodic update and keep building links (which is never ending job)
