Thanks for reading. I plugged in Traffic facts to my site and today it said I 1378 hits to my site 184 visitors and 143 unique's and 400+ page views. My question is: what is usually a conversion ratio? Amount per visitor? What do you usually see? And how much traffic do i need to drive before I might see some sales? In general marketing they say 1-2 % so if that is true with the web also I should have at least one client. Would you mind taking a look at my site and suggesting what might help to convert to sales? If any body specializes in this please help and if i start getting conversions i will definitely send some $$ your way! Thank you J
Hey there, Everyone's conversion rates vary it really depends on how good your content is and what you are offering for people to actually opt in. Yes they do say about 1-2 % of your visitors will turn in to a customer, if that isn't happening at the moment, maybe it is because you aren't offering something that the vast majority of people want. With that I suggest that you look over your offer and maybe try give out some free stuff and build a relationship before asking them to buy whatever it is that you are selling. I have found it increases conversions because they actually know a bit about you. I'm only just starting my business up so at the stages I'm at at the moment, I have a list of about 300 people just from a simple opt-in page. My opt in conversion rate is at 63% currently I don't have any customers because I am not offering anything for sale at the moment, but I have 15 people interested in an e-book which is nearly complete. The biggest thing I want you to get out of this post is that you need to build relationships with people before trying to sell to them, I suggest you give them some free gifts to entice them, and then start offering your product, I guarantee your conversion rate WILL increase if you do that. For practically all sites, average conversion rate is around 1 out of every 100 to 300 visitors. Can't tell ya much more without seeing your site.
