I have been using Adwords for quite some time and the results are kinda bad. Right now it is about 1 customer to every $300 in ads. My landing page is pretty good. Can anybody recommend a cheaper way to go about buying ads with Google?
Are you in a highly competitive niche? I would recommend better targeting the traffic you receive and using negative keywords. Example, if you are selling something, you should set "free" as a negative word so that "free ebook" doesn't list your ad assuming you have something like "ebook" in your list of keywords. Competitive niche's are difficult and you will need to toy with your formula to find out what works and what doesn't work.
And how much do you make with 1 customer? If you are into affiliate marketing like clickbank forget about it
Which keywords are generating traffic and which one generated the conv? Think on how you would search for your product, general searches to find a solution and specific keywords to compare products and prices prior to purchase, how much of your $300 is targeting general and how much is specific
it really depends on what keywords you are bidding on, what industry you are in and how much you make per conversion. $300 might be losing money in some industries, while $300 per conversion is gold in others. We need more background information.
I suggest buying your traffic view media buys (banners) and making sure your CTR is high. Then you'll make good money if your landing page is good at converting
Have you tried Yahoo! Search Marketing? I've receive a much higher conversion rate with them. But Sem-Advance is right, $300 is way too much for a conversion not matter what the keyword. Use exact match for your keywords to not only lower costs, but drive more targeted traffic. But I'm betting that you're already doing this.
I am going with you're meaning if he earned $1,000.00 per conversion. If that were the case he would not be here asking what's wrong......I hope lol... Point taken, but I think you can agree for 95% of us paying $300.00 a conversion is insane. I know one of my clients sells $5.00 items.. and when I took over the PPC management they had a term that cost $250.00 per conversion
Ehm.. you are paying way too much in clicks... If you pay me $500 ONE-TIME I'll get your costs down, go over your landing page and totally change everything up... it's extremely easy mistakes to make as a newcomer... I'll use my special scripts and stuff to generate targeted keyword lists... How much are you paying per click? If it's over $0.50-$1 I can definitely get it down to under $0.50 and I can almost guarantee under $0.30 as well... If you are lucky under $0.20, but you know, "home business" keywords are harder to get down there... I do have minimum bid $0.05 on mine, but I've spent hours fixing this crap around.... - Chris
So, you make $1000 per conversion and spend $300 to get that conversion? Thats over a 3 to 1 ROI, which is really good, especially in this market $300 per conversion is not bad when taken into relation between industry and products or services sold. If you sold a $50 product in this industry obviously you would be losing money, but then again, if your product was $50 then your CPA would probably be dramatically less since more people are open to purchasing a $50 than a $1000 product. CPA is always in relation to ROI. You will never get $5 conversions for a $1000 product... Why, because less people are willing to spend that kind of cash, so you need to find more leads and prospects
Robert has a point about the quality of the traffic. You can get really cheap traffic some places, but it may not be good traffic. If you care about CPA, you must consider quality along with price.
I don;t understand? Is the 6th customer some sort of bonus payment? Either way it sounds like you are losing out. Robert's right that just chasing clicks isn't totally the answer, you want to get people who are likely to convert once they get to your page. Maybe this series of pages I did called beating adwords will help you. Cheers Mike
I spend about 15 minutes on mine and automatically get minimum bids of .04 & .03 However minimum bid price does not mean your ads will display. It simply means the Google Adwords will accept your bid of .04
You should work on maximizing your campaigns - if your ads are showing up in the wrong places, people might click on it but those aren't the people you're looking for.
