I just started my first site. Whats the best way to get the word out and build links

Title says it all. Just started my first site. What is the best way to build links and get the word around about my site. Im still new at this

 

Link exchange with other new sites. Directories. Friends. There are a lot of ways jej

 

Directories WITHOUT reciprocal. Link exchange has not as much importance as one way links.

 

Do not start wrong with reciprocal.
If you just release your website just do your homework.
- choose a niche
- Keyword research and improvement
- Fix and have your images working in conjunction with SEO standards
- Create autorithy articles
- Webmaster tools/sitemap updated
- Optimize your tags - feed the serach engines what they want
- Foundational Links - give a little push on your own, from directories. I usually start with - DMOZ (i know its a pain in the ass), Yahoo Direc, Business.com, BOTW, Joe Ant, Goguides, Web World Index and all directories in your niche. Use different descriptions and link ANCHOR (this is the single most important thing on link placement).
- social Bookmarks - There heaps of social bookmarks as Delicious, Stumble Upon, Twitter, Reddit
- Buy some CPC with adwords, Yahoo

There are more and more, but if you follow at least the points above you'll b alright.

I know this sounds like old hat, but submitting to link directories is a good easy way to get incoming links. Just try to make sure the category is relevant to your niche. Also a non reciprical link is better for your site. Featured Links are the best but some directories charge for that service. You can find a lot of lists on these formums but you could start with these WebEasyLinks Com or Backlinks.Mediazene Com

 

Check out the free web directory list in my signature. Also the social networking list will help build links/traffic to inner pages.

Here's a free keyword research tool. It will help you identify keywords related to your main keyword which have traffic.

Can I submit an article that is on my website to a directory, or must the article be unique content. Can I submit the same article to multiple directories?

How do I get my site on to search engines such as google, yahoo, msn, etc... Is there a certain process I must do??

He pays for the avatar, feed, and the sig. I dont really know much about what he does and I havn't heard anything about it being a scam. It seems alright to me.

It is you choice if you promote one of well known scammer, but i am sure you dont want make negative reputation with this promotion or? Please stop promoting scammers.

 

Social Media Marketing is one of the best ways, if you know how to get your stuff noticed. Join Digg, Reddit, and Stumbleupon. Participate like crazy untill you have some clout. Then create some awesome content, submit, and watch the links start pouring in. Works like a charm.
